I'm a bubbly, out going, 20 year old girl. I am a certified Pastry Chef, continuing my education by studying Food Science. I hope one day to become a Flavorist, or Flavor Chemist. A Flavorist is someone who uses both chemistry and art to engineer artificial and natural flavors. I'm an avid wakeboarder. I love to blog about my adventures. I'm a determined dreamer and a recovering (im)perfectionist.You will rarely find me without Pearls. I'm bringing Homemaker back.I sew, bake, cook and knit. Michael Jackson sings to my soul.I had the most AWKWARD childhood..I found out I had ADD in February 2011, childhood explained. I wouldn't change it, I have some awesome stories.If I ever become famous, I might just have to pay my sisters to keep quiet.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it provides me security. I was born into the Church, and into a strong Mormon family. I relied on their testimonies for most of my life. When I left home and had to stand on my own two feet I truly had to rely on my Heavenly Father and Christ my savior. I know that it's by the power of the atonement i truly have the opportunity to be saved. The Church to me is love, it's about building and uplifting one another and learning to grow and help each other as we walk through this life. I'm grateful for the opportunity to go to the temple, to be able to step out of the world and draw closer to him. There is nothing more perfect in this world than this gospel, and I know without a doubt in my heart it will bring peace in times of trial and strength amidst the storm.

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I'm a Pastry Chef! I've always had a desire to cook and bake and have truly felt that it was my mission in life to reach people through food. I also consider myself to be a truly compassionate person. These two things combined make for an incredible reaction. It's pretty hard to not feel better after eating a warm chocolate chip cookie and having someone there to listen to you. I truly believe that everyone has something to offer in this world, and that everyone deserves to be heard. By sharing food, I in turn comfort those who truly need it.

How I live my faith

I live a very busy lifestyle, one filled with people of all faiths and back rounds. It's incredibly important to me to stay grounded in my faith. Reading my scriptures, praying daily,working in the family history center and attending my meetings are just a few of the ways I stay connected.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

For starters, I have several friends who are homosexual.I go to a school where over 54 of the population is or has been involved in homosexuality. I don't love them any more or any less than my 'straight' friends. The church is built upon the fundamental unit of a family. By practicing homosexuality it interferes with building a stable family.
The focus of the Church’s involvement in the protect marriage coalition is specifically same-sex marriage and its consequences. The Church does not object to rights already established in California regarding hospitalization and medical care, fair housing and employment rights, or probate rights, so long as these do not infringe on the integrity of the family or the constitutional rights of churches and their adherents to administer and practice their religion free from government interference.

The Church has a single, undeviating standard of sexual morality intimate relations are proper only between a husband and a wife united in the bonds of matrimony.

My father is gay and I have many friends who are gay. Though we have some differing opinions and beliefs, we have a great relationship - each respecting the other's right to choose their own way. Its no secret that the Church does not support gay marriage. We believe that God's plan for the family is, always has been and always will be a man and a woman and their children. However, the perception that the church is anti-gay is inaccurate. We support the rights of all men and woman to exercise their free agency and be entitled to the same legal rights as anyone, as long as they don't erode the principles on which our country was founded - freedom of religion. The scriptures affirm that homosexual behaviors are a sin, but I believe Christ understands the extreme difficulty that a gay person would experience refusing to act upon their same-sex attraction. I also believe that through Him, all things are possible and that no person is unworthy or undeserving of His love and the benefits of His atonement.

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Parenting is a gift from, and a partnership with, God. There are rare circumstances where, with the approprobation of God, there might be a reason to terminate a pregnancy. But that's a decision to made only after much prayer and both medical and ecclesiastical counseling. The larger principle here is that joy comes of making God a full partner in marriage, and of bringing children into the world within the bounds of marriage.
