About Me

I grew up clogging and dancing because I couldn't keep my feet still. I have continued in that and have been able to travel the world because of it. I received a Bachelors in Business and am working while I can. I am married to a wonderful man and we are looking forward to having our own little family some day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and have always had a faith in the teachings. I have had many life experiences where I have learned my relationship with Heavenly Father is real and He is helping me become the woman He knows I am. It gives me peace and hope in this chaotic world to know that Christ lives and that I can be a part of this marvelous work.

How I live my faith

Even though I am fairly young I have had many opportunities to live and teach my faith. I love the saying, "Bear your testimony and when necessary, open your mouth." I have tried to live by this. I have been blessed by teaching the children, youth and women of the Church. Each brought their unique challenges and blessings. I have been able to travel the world performing with a folkdance team and each time meet people from different countries whom I can share my testimony with. Most times its just through example but sometimes I have opened my mouth. It's those times I try to remember so I can live that way daily and not just while on tour. I strive to be an example of the believers in all I do and say.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is like being yourself but you will find more happiness through the gospel of Jesus Christ so you will a better yourself you won’t want to do the things you know are wrong. People will know that you are following Christ and they will respect you for that even if they tease you about it at first. You don’t have to change your personality but you will change the way you look at life and find more respect and love for Christ and what He did for you and for me.

Many people think that being a Mormon is very strict and holds people back from experiencing all that life has to offer. However, I know that it is the exact opposite. In The Book of Mormon, an ancient governor named Pahoran tells us that the spirit of God is the spirit of freedom. I know this principle to be true. The things of the world bind us with feelings of guilt, sorrow, envy, hatred, doubt, judgment, chaos, and confusion. The things of God bring peace, contentment, happiness, joy, satisfaction, clarity, and love. Through family relationships, The Book of Mormon, communication with a loving Father in Heaven, repentance, baptism, church attendance, and making sacred promises in God's holy temple, I have experienced these feelings of freedom. Being a Mormon is not just something I do, it is who I am! Mormonism is not just a belief, it is a lifestyle. This lifestyle has provided me with clarity, purpose, value, and direction. I will forever proclaim the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! It is Christ's true church upon the earth. It is the pathway to true joy in this life and the life to come!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Serving a mission is a priesthood responsibility, and young men are asked to sacrifice two years in order to serve others, gain experience as followers of Christ, and grow in their faith. However, that is a choice each individual has to make on their own and deciding not to go does not affect a person's standing in the Church. But those who do go, men and women alike, usually find that two years is not enough time and wish they could stay longer. Service creates bonds of love for the people you serve. I was unable to go in my young adult years, but I still yearn for the opportunity and look forward to a time when I can serve as a missionary.
