About Me

I just graduated from high school, and am serving a mission for the church in New England. I love playing basketball, going mountain biking, and listening to music.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and have seen the happiness that comes from following Christ's teachings. I love the opportunities it gives me to get out of my comfort zone, to try new things, and to learn and grow and reach my potential. I've come to know of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ as I've seen the powerful change that it can bring in peoples lives.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by going out every day, and trying to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the people here in New England. I try to be an example of what I teach, by doing what I know Christ wants me to do, and trying become the person Christ wants me to be.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

No, Mormons do not practice polygamy and discontinued the practice over a century ago. Yet, whenever I discuss my faith, often the first question asked is, "how many wives do you have?" It is important to know that the religious groups that currently practice polygamy, as often seen on the news, have no affiliation with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Even though some of these groups may claim otherwise.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Everything around us testifies of a God who created all things. The complexity of life points toward an Intelligent Being who designed it, organized it and brought it to existence. The probability that everything around us may have arisen by mere chance is infinitely small, and the idea of a Supreme Creator is the only one that can make sense of all the beauty and complexity of nature including ourselves. And yet, these still do not prove the existence of God in the same sense that scientific concepts are proven. It is really impossible to prove the existence of God in the same, logical way used in science (the scientific method). That is why we say that we believe that there is a God, even if we have not seen him - this is called faith. I have not personally seen God, but my inner self tells me that he exists. Ultimately, it comes down to individual choice. We decide based on what we see and feel, on what the surroundings tell us, whether God exists or not. I choose to believe that there is a God, and this choice is one of my most important freedoms.
