Julee : Mormon.

Hi, I'm Julee

I am a daughter. I am a wife. I am a Mother. l am Mormon.

About Me

I am a small town girl livin' in a huge city. I am the wife of one awesome fella' and the mother of two cute gals. Mothering is what I do best and most often, but in other moments I find myself keeping record of it all through journaling and posting on our family's blog. I also spend time serving in the Church. Living in this big city in a tiny apartment for four years now while my husband goes to school has really given me some cool experiences and different perspectives. Before we started our family, I got to be a chocolatier and meet some incredible people and yes, eat some incredible chocolate too. Before I was a chocolatier, I was a college student who earned a degree in Culinary Arts. As I go through life and move on to bigger and better things, I realize that I always have, and hopefully always will, love the great outdoors where some of my greatest adventures and fondest memories have been made. I am beyond excited to be moving closer to home in a couple of months upon my husband's graduation where we can begin again doing the things we love most outside these city walls! Life is one big adventure and I feel so richly blessed to have been able to live it as I have.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints because of love. I have wonderful parents who love the Lord, each other, and their children. Because of that love, they were able to create within our home a sacred environment in which my brothers and sisters and I were taught and could observe gospel principles being lived every day. I have never doubted my upbringing. I took what they gave me and lived it, learning, feeling, and eventually knowing for myself that God lives and we are all His children that Jesus Christ is the Savior of mankind and that His gospel has been restored on the earth today with all of the saving ordinances through the power of the priesthood. I know that God hears and answers our prayers. I know that the church was restored through God's chosen servant, Joseph Smith and that we have a living prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson who will not lead us astray. I know that we can receive the guidance, direction, correction, and protection from the Holy Ghost that we need to make it back to live with our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and our families for all eternity.

How I live my faith

Within the church, I currently serve as president of the Primary. The primary is the organization for the children to be taught the basic principles of the gospel for two hours each Sunday through song, interactive lessons, and testimonies. It is a place for children to make friends and enjoy learning the gospel together on Sundays and through occasional activities held on other days besides Sunday. It has been a privilege to be able to teach and be taught by children each Sunday. They are the closest we can get to Heaven here on the earth. I am also a visiting teacher, meaning I am assigned a companion with whom I go each month to visit specific sisters, share a message and then look after and serve with love. I have served in many other capacities, each time stretching my soul and doing things I never knew I could. I know that we are given opportunities to serve for certain reasons. Serving others is the best way we can be like Jesus Christ and show Him our love.
