About Me

I am married for 36 years. My husband baptized me when he came home from his mission. We have a family owned business delivering and doing leak repairs on hot tubs. We have 3 sons and 3 daughter in laws. We have 3 granddaughters that live in Louisiana.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because they are a family oriented, love and have a testimony of the gospel. My husband is a bishop of our ward. If you follow the teachings of the gospel, then things will go right in your life. If you stray, life will not be as you like.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

To bring the world his truth to each and every person. This way they have a chance to learn about the gospel before they go on to the next life.

What is hope and what do you hope for?

Hope is for something that you wish that will happen and eventually it does. What I hope for is that some day all our sons will be active in the church instead of just one and our granddaughters will become members and eventually will become a forever family. Eventually I hope that this will happen.

What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?

Have scripture study and prayer. Have family home evening. Attending and inviting to ward activities. Thinking positively and trying to assist them in the proper way to think.

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

If we practice to choose the right, then we will continue to choose the right.

How I live my faith

Pray everyday, read scriptures, live my life to the best of my ability. Do my calling that I have in the church to my full potential. I assign women to go and visit other ladies in our ward and keep stats.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

I served a mission in South Korea for two years, so I can tell you. :) The missionaries will probably be as nervous as you are as they arrive at your home. The nervousness does not come from timidity or a lack of belief in the message they bring, but because they want so much to express their testimonies and the Spirit they feel to you.

The missionaries will likely introduce themselves and get to know you and your family. Though missionaries are called by God to preach His word, they come from largely every-day backgrounds and have lives likely much like yours.

After getting to know your family, they will likely ask what questions you may have about life or the Mormon church. Using the scriptures and their own personal experiences, they will seek to help you find answers. Don't be afraid of asking any question or thinking you may offend or sound silly to the missionaries. They are called to help and serve and are very understanding.

After answering your questions and sharing a spiritual message, the missionaries will ask you to act on the message. A soccer player does not listen to his coach during practice only to go home without kicking a ball, right? In the same way, the missionaries will invite you to read a chapter of scripture or seek for yourself that what they are saying is true. You don't have to just take the missionaries' word in what they say--a loving God is happy to answer thoughtful, earnest prayers seeking for the truth.
