Hi, I'm Coreen
My father was in the military when I was growing up, so I moved a lot. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I live in the mountains of Colorado where it is often cold. I have five children three are in college and two are in high school. Helping them grow up has brought me a great deal of happiness and has kept me very busy. This fall I am going back to school to study nursing. I also sing in a community women's chorus because I love music.
Why I am a Mormon
When I was growing up there were lots of people around me who were antagonistic to the church. I listened to what they had to say, and I read some of the literature produced to discredit the church. Eventually, I decided to follow the advice of the Savior in John 717. He says if anyone wants to know if a given doctrine is from God we should live it. If we do we will know if it's good or not. From my own experience I have come to know that happiness can be found by keeping the commandments of God. I have read the Book of Mormon and I believe the voice of God can be found in its pages. I also believe that, as stated in Romans 55, the love of God can be in our hearts through the Holy Ghost, and, as it says at the end of the Book of Mormon, that through the Holy Ghost we can know the truth of all things Moroni 105. Through the Holy Ghost I know that Jesus is our Savior, and that He has called prophets to teach us today just as He did anciently.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by doing the very best I can to keep the commandments of God. Sometimes it's not easy. I try to help the people around me. Recently my husband and I saw a lady who had gotten her car stuck. We were in a hurry to get to our daughter's concert, but we stopped to help her knowing it might make us late. It didn't take us very long to get her back on her way, so we weren't late for the concert. However, we were both willing to be late in order to be kind. I also teach a religion class for high school students every morning before school. I don't get paid to teach. I do it because I want these teenagers to know how they can find happiness in their lives.
