About Me

I am currently trying to get into a culinary arts school. Someday I hope to own my own restaurant. I love cooking for other people and hosting parties.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of His church because I know it is true. I love the gospel with all of my heart. I can honestly say that I know where I would be without the church and it isn't anywhere near where I want to be in my life. I am so very grateful for the knowledge the gospel has given me.

How has attending Church services helped you?

I can definitely feel a difference when I attend church and skip a week. My attitude is a lot different. I am happier throughout the week when I attend all of my church meetings. Things seem to run a lot smoother as well.

How I live my faith

I have had many different responsibilities within the church. I currently am extracting data from state census reports and making them more accessible in search engines for people interested in doing family history.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Some things that tell me there is a God are small and simple things. I know there is a God by the family I was given. I have such an amazing family I can't imagine being put with anyone else. I know there is a God because He hears and Answers my prayers. He lets me know when I am doing the right thing. I know there is a God because as long as I allow it, I can feel His presence with me.

Everything around us testifies of a God who created all things. The complexity of life points toward an Intelligent Being who designed it, organized it and brought it to existence. The probability that everything around us may have arisen by mere chance is infinitely small, and the idea of a Supreme Creator is the only one that can make sense of all the beauty and complexity of nature including ourselves. And yet, these still do not prove the existence of God in the same sense that scientific concepts are proven. It is really impossible to prove the existence of God in the same, logical way used in science (the scientific method). That is why we say that we believe that there is a God, even if we have not seen him - this is called faith. I have not personally seen God, but my inner self tells me that he exists. Ultimately, it comes down to individual choice. We decide based on what we see and feel, on what the surroundings tell us, whether God exists or not. I choose to believe that there is a God, and this choice is one of my most important freedoms.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. We worship only God the Father and his son Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God chosen to restore the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness back on the Earth. We deeply respect the man and all that he did for man kind as through him the Church of Jesus Christ and the authority which is called the Priesthood was restored to the Earth. The anciant people of Israel deeply revered and respected Moses and all that he did for them, but did not worship him. Joseph was a true Prophet of God and we see him as such, and we only worship the Father and the Son. Joseph was a servant of God and taught about how we should only worship God and Jesus Christ. The purpose of a Prophet is to point us to Christ and help us to know his will, and in these times as terrible as they are, we need the guidance of Prophets to help keep us on the path that God has put before us.
