Why I am a Mormon
I grew up a mormon and didn't think much about it until I was close to 17 years old. I was sort of in a bad place in my life and my cousin started helping me study the Book of Mormon. I always knew it was there and that I was supposed to read it, but I never did. Since I started reading it my life completely changed. I have begun to love the Book of Mormon. I have been reading it now for 3 years and haven't missed a day. I love the Book of Mormon for how it has changed my life and how it has made me happier. It has really allowed me to grow closer to my savior, Jesus Christ. I have become a better person because of reading the Book of Mormon. It has motivated me to become a more Christ-like person and it's all thanks to the Book of Mormon. That is why I'm a Mormon.
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons go on missions?
I don't know about all mormon missionaries, but the reason that I am serving a mission is to share the happiness that I have in my life. The book of Mormon has brought me to be a better person and I want to help people understand what this gospel can do for them. I had never been a really religious person until God humbled me. I was brought to a low place and was able to come out of that low through the gospel of Jesus Christ and really through the Book of Mormon. Now that I have applied the gospel in my own life, I want to share it with as many people as I can.
How I live my faith
Right now I am currently serving a mission for the Mormon church. I am in Houston, Texas and I love it! I will serve for 2 years until it's my time to come home. I talk to people all day, everyday and try to help them come unto christ. It couldn't be a more rewarding way to live and express my faith. It's a battle to be away from the ones you love and care about for 2 years, but the journey is well worth the sacrifice. Every day is a challenge and I'm being tried and stretched. I know that through my sacrifice I can and will become more like our Savior.
