Andrew: Basketball, Chiropractor, Aggie, College Student, Boise, Prayer, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Andrew

I love Basketball, I love the Outdoors, I am a huge Utah State Aggie Fan! and last but not least I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Ever since I was little I have been fascinated with sports. I grew up with the love of playing and watching any kind of Sport. I love being a sports fan and I am a true blooded Aggie from Utah! My biggest passion is basketball though. I love the excitement of making the last minute shot and the adrenaline rush of a game.
I also have a love of the Outdoors. I love going hiking, fishing, and caving. It is great to be able to get out into the wonderful world that God has given us and enjoy his many wonderful creations. Being able to appreciate that has helped me to know that there really is a God.
I took two years off from going to college to serve a mission in Boise Idaho and loved it. It has been a wonderful way for me to show the love I have for the Savior Jesus Christ. I not only feel that love but also a love for the people of Boise. It is a wonderful place.
I am now going to be starting in the spring semester to attend Utah State University, one of my life long dreams and hopefully move on to go to Chiropractic school to become a Chiropractor.
I have hopes and dreams just like anybody else and know that through my faith, prayers and dedication that I will be able to achieve them. That is one thing I learned while in Boise was the power of prayer. I know God answers prayer and that I am one of his sons. I know that the Church is true! I know that because of prayer. Prayer has played a huge role in my life and its made me who I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that it is contained in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I was raised in the church but well that's no real reason to be in a church but as I grew up and practiced what I believe I came to know that it was true. It didn't happen over night, I have had many experiences especially in my senior year of High School I had some difficulties arise and also had a great friend pass away because of Brain Cancer, so with the trying times I turned to the Book of Mormon for assistance. I didn't change over night, my doubts didn't just leave, but I noticed that I was happier and my days went better as I read it. There is a power in the book that no other book has, I really came to know by how much better of a person I became and how I was a better friend when I read it. I know that it is true and that it really was revelation brought forth by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I had always believed this but through this experience I was able to know without a doubt what I had believed for life is true.

Personal Stories

Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.

I feel that Joseph Smith is a prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that he truly did restore the Gospel to the Earth. When he had his first vision he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and well he sure did live up to that. He never would once deny his testimony of that event. He truly was an instrument in the hands of the Lord to help bring knowledge to his children.

Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.

I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet and that the gospel was restored through him. I know that it has changed my life and makes me who I am. The great thing is nobody has to take anybodies word for it. We have convincing evidence that the Gospel was restored and that Joseph Smith is a prophet. It all lies within the Book of Mormon, if its true which it is everything else about the restored gospel is true. It's great to know that we have evidence that God loves us in this day and age. We can hold it and treasure it, and also ask God if it is true. I feel very strongly that God will answer us as I have received an answer myself to know that it is true. I love the gospel and being able to know that I truly am where God wants me to be.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

The Book of Mormon is a wonderful blessing in my life. During the trials that I have had in my life I have been able to learn more of the Gospel and of my true relationship with God. I learned that I was one of his sons and that he loved me. I have learned that I can truly ask him for things I need in my life and that he does answer. The Book of Mormon has been a tool in my personal conversion to Jesus Christ's Church. I can't help but know its true because of the answer I got from reading it. i always have believed it was true growing up but now I can say that I know its true because it has changed my life. It has brought me to know the truth that God does exist. He loves me and I can return to live with him again.

How I live my faith

I live it by being an example of the believers, (1 Tim 4:12). I do all that I can to learn and study the words of our Savior Jesus Christ and apply them in my own life. Its not necessarily the easiest thing to do when this world is so crazy and has a lot to offer, but the happiness that my faith has brought me makes it totally worth it. I do my best to keep all of the Lords Commandments and to live in accordance to his will. The blessings that flow from that are truly remarkable. and that as I have lived it I carry a happier countenance. I do my best to be a good friend and neighbor and always am willing to help out a friend or neighbor who may need my help. I also live my faith by sharing it and inviting people to learn more about who I am and why I live the way that I do.
I live my faith just by the things I do daily. I study Christs word and do my best to live it. When I fall short I do my best to repent, and to not make that mistake again. I'm definitely not perfect but that's what repentance and forgiveness are for is to help us become better. I also attend the Temple as often as possible. The serenity and peace of mind that I find from going to the House of the Lord is amazing.
I love how I'm able to be myself. I don't have to put on a false charade as a member of the Church. That's one of the best things I think about my faith I can be myself and still live the Gospel.
