About Me

I've been married to my eternal companion for 8 years. We have 2 beautiful children with special needs. Our little girl is 4 and has rett syndrome. Our little boy is 1 and has a ventilator and g-tube. We LOVE spending time together as a family. Our struggles have brought us closer together and strengthened our testimonies.

Why I am a Mormon

I am MORMON because I know The Church of Jesus Christ is the true church upon the face of this earth. It brings me joy to know that after this life, I can return to live with our Father in Heaven. It brings me greater joy to know that I can be with my family for time and all eternity. I have a testimony that continues to grow each and every day. I know that there are many blessings that come with fasting. Fasting is so important to our family every month and has strengthened not only my family, but me personally. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God. We are blessed to have a temple close to us to do thy work. We count our blessings each and every day and are Thankful for them. I am also thankful for the trials that we have endured. Without the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I don't think I would be as strong as I am today.

What is hope and what do you hope for?

Hope is a wish in your heart of good things to come. Hope for me personally means that no matter what adversity I face and no matter how hard times get, I know my sunshine will come. It's an eternal burning flame that will never go out as long as someone believes. I am a dreamer and a believer!

How I live my faith

I am so blessed to have a calling in the church. I have the privilege to serve as the primary secretary. The children of the church will definately brighten your day and there is no better way to start your week with lots of smiles. I LOVE coming to church every sunday to partake of the sacrament and renew my covenants with Heavenly Father. I feel cleansed and pure. I also LOVE being a visiting teacher! There is no greater joy than serving and helping others and making new friends.

What do Mormons believe about family?

The family is the most important social unit on earth. It is also the basic and most important unit in heaven. God's purpose for the family is to provide a place where children can be raised by parents in an environment of love and acceptance, where they can be best guided to adulthood. I love this part of the The Family A Proclamation to the World. The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. Successful marriages and families are established and maintained on principles of faith, prayer, repentance, forgiveness, respect, love, compassion, work, and wholesome recreational activities. By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness and are responsible to provide the necessities of life and protection for their families. Mothers are primarily responsible for the nurture of their children. In these sacred responsibilities, fathers and mothers are obligated to help one another as equal partners. Disability, death, or other circumstances may necessitate individual adaptation. Extended families should lend support when needed.”

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

Are Mormons Christians?

Depends on whom you ask. If you ask a faithful Latter-day Saint, the answer will be "yes". The arguments that I've heard against our being Christian are that we believe in the Book of Mormon (Another Testament of Jesus Christ); we believe that God the Father and Jesus Christ are two separate beings with physical, glorified bodies of flesh and bone; we believe that Joseph Smith was called of God in our time as a prophet; etc. The short answer is "yes", we are Christians. I would even go so far as to say we are the only Christians; that is, we are the only church that Christ has given his priesthood authority. If a Christian is a disciple of Christ, then we are certainly striving to be Christians. Certainly, other churches help and serve in ways that are admirable. There are good people everywhere in the world. However, Heavenly Father is a God of order, not chaos. He has established one faith, one church, and one baptism. There are not several roads that lead to His Kingdom; there is one. We all can receive a witness from the Holy Ghost that we are on that one path that leads to eternal happiness.
