Hi, I'm Perry
I grew up on a small Island off the coast of North Carolina and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I grew up in a Latter-day Saint family. I am a wife, mother, grandmother and sister. I cannot imagine being without them. I was named after a missionary that was serving on our island at the time I was born. I have been retired for a year and a half. My husband and I are now serving a full-time mission for the church. I find much joy in serving others. I am thankful of the knowledge that I know Families are Forever.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born of goodly parents that loved the Lord. My parents always set a good example. Even though I was raised in the church, I can truly say that I have gained my own testimony through much study and prayer. I have been on my knees many times asking our Heavenly Father to help me know the truth of things. I have felt the prompting of the Holy Spirit testifying of the truthfulness of the gospel. Sweet is the peace the gospel brings. We have a loving Heavenly Father that will lead us to the truth if we but ask with an honest heart.
How I live my faith
I have always been active in my faith. I have served in many callings from very young children to adults. In the gospel we do not seek callings but rely on our Heavenly Father, through inspired leaders, to call us where we are needed to serve. When we received our call to serve our mission, I was serving as President of the Women's Auxiliary (Relief Society). I find much joy in serving others. The motto iof the Relief Society is "Charity Never Faileth". At the end of each day I try to ask myself, "Have I Done Any Good In The World Today?" I also find joy in doing genealogy work and attending the Temple of the Lord. I love my family dearly and cannot imagine life without them. I know I have a Heavenly Father that loves me dearly. We are His children. His gospel has been restored to the earth in its fulness. We have living Prophets ,just as in Bibical times, that receive guidance. We can receive more joy and peace by keeping His commandments than any other way. I will always be indebted to our Heavenly Father for my many blessings.
