About Me

I love life and it's challenges. I love change, being in different environments. I plan on settling down one day but right now in my life I enjoy a change of environment. I love to be in the sun. Going to the lake to boat and wake board is my ideal daily activity. I love to sing. In high school i had the opportunity to be in an Acapella group. We would perform about once amonth and practice every day.. I aslo was fortunate to be able to sing in an all-state choir. That experience what definatelly worth the time i put into it. I plan on going to school to get my degree in Accounting or Computer Engineering. I like doing math and working with computers. A good day is when i'm on a boat with my friends or family enjoying the sunshine. I love my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon simply because i know the Book of Mormon is the Word of God. There is nothing so exquisite as the joy that comes from the knowledge and witness of our saviors sacrifice. The Book of Mormon has brought me closer to my savior. It is another testament of him. Having a knowledge that Jesus Christ continues to speak to his prophets and apostles, brings peace to my life. I know that as i keep the commandments and follow the counsel given by the prophet i can be safe from the evils of the modern world. Because i know that the Book of Mormon is True, I know that Joseph Smith, it's translator, was a prophet and he did, in fact, restore the church that Christ had originally established.

How I live my faith

Well right now i'm focusing my efforts on being a good person by living the gospel. Trying constantly to improve my behavior and my talents. Study of the scriptures is key to helping you stay in tune with what God wants. I think right now the best way I try and live my faith is by being as kind to others as I possibly can.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

When our first parents, Adam and Eve, partook of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they introduced two kind of death into the world, spiritual death and physical death. Spiritual death is caused by sin and it separates us from God. Physical death is when ones body and spirit are separated. In order to overcome both of these obstacles we needed a savior. We believe that Jesus Christ, the son of God, was that savior. Through His atonement, Christ overcame spiritual death when he suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and physical death when he died and was resurrected on the third day. Everything we believe is centered on that event. Because Christ accomplished the atonement we are now able to live with God again if we will have faith in Christ, repent, be baptized by someone with God's authority, recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost and endure to the end.

There are doctrinal answers to why we believe we need a Savior to redeem us from the Fall of Adam and to return us to our Father in Heaven that you'll probably come across here. But let me tell you why I need a Savior personally and what He does for me. Christ suffered personally for my pains, sorrows, and sins so that if I ask Him too, He can take them from me. I have been the victim of abuse in my life, and yet through Him I have been able to lay it all at His feet, freely forgive, feel peace, find love, and understand how important negative life experiences can be in teaching us humility. Daily He takes my pain and replaces it with pure love so that I am no longer a victim, but a victor. I need a Savior because He knows me, and through him my flaws become strengths and my pain becomes peace.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Only some Mormons are allowed to go into temples because of the sacredness of the temples. Those who are living worthily and honestly are allowed to enter the temple. The temple is the "House of the Lord" and we esteem it with such respect that we make sure those who are in the temple are worthy to participate. We don't talk about the specifics of the temple because they are so sacred and we want to keep it that way. In the temple we can be bound as eternal families, learn more about our purpose here on earth, and baptize those who did not get the opportunity while they were living. It is a place where we would love everyone one day to be worthy to enter.
