Hi, I'm Amy
I'm a wife and mother of 2 children. I'm a Creative Director. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a wife and mother of 2 children. I live in Chicago. I am a Creative Director for a publishing company and I feel very blessed to be able to work from home so that I can also be with my children in this important time in their lives. I love advertising, business, and good design. I love making and eating good food. I love learning and reading. I love finding beauty in everything around me, and especially finding something special in what others have thought was no good. Most of all, I love my family, my friends, my Savior, and being a Mormon.
Why I am a Mormon
I grew up LDS and have loved it my whole life. Throughout all the changes and trials in my life, I have always felt a special connection to my Heavenly Father. This connection has come because my parents taught me how to pray, how to read the scriptures, and how to listen and have faith that He loves me, and truly wants what is best for me and what will ultimately bring me the most peace and happiness in my life. As I look back over my life and my choices, I can see so clearly the Lord's hand, guiding me in paths that I often would not have chosen on my own, but that have brought me so much joy. I can see evidence all around me, past and present, of that love and that guidance. The teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - the Gospel of Jesus Christ - has brought me every good thing in my life and I cannot imagine a life without it. It has truly made me who I am and given me a fullness and strength that carries me throughout every day, every decision, and every discouragement, and motivates me to constantly strive to become better.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by teaching my own children the Gospel. We read from the scriptures for a few minutes every morning after breakfast. My 6 year old daughter learned to read by following along and sounding out the words. My 2 year old son loves to repeat the words after me, and it is helping him learn how to talk. It constantly amazes me how much they comprehend, and if I ever forget or put off reading, they are right there reminding me that it needs to be done! I lead all of the children in Primary ages 3-12 in singing time each week. We learn new songs that teach about our Heavenly Father's plan for us and remind us that we are all His children. The kids love singing, and have endless energy for it. More energy than I have, for sure! I've never been one to sing on my own, but their enthusiasm and lack of judgement has helped me to stretch my own boundaries and become braver than I thought I could be. I've found throughout my life that it is easy for me to feel the love of my Heavenly Father and the comfort of the Holy Ghost through music. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have so much music in my life through this special calling.

Joseph Smith
As is the case throughout history God has communicated to His children through prophets. God used a humble man as a prophet to restore His Church on earth who ultimately died defending His faith.
