About Me

I am a wife and a mother to 2 beautiful girls. I work as a geriatric occupational therapist, part time, but spend a lot of time at home with my girls playing princess. We love spending time together, watching sports and playing outside. I quilt, craft and love to eat the fruits of my baking experiements!

Why I am a Mormon

The strength and comfort that comes with being a member of the LDS church is amazing. There are so many things that pile up in life, that overwhelm and create shadows- but the gospel brings light, joy and peace into my life.

How I live my faith

I help keep the women 18 years and older apprised of the activites that are coming up. I love the contact I get with women of all ages, and getting to know their sweet spirits by spending my Sundays with them. I spend a lot of time teaching my daughters at home. I strive every day to teach my daughters to live the principles I learned growing up as a member. I want them to follow Christ, feel His love and let His light shine through their words and actions. We read the scriptures, pray and attend church together. The little things make a big difference. I want my daughters to know they are children of God, that our Heavenly Father watches over them and cares for them.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Live it. If you can commit to yourself and God to give all you have to discovering for yourself if the church is true through living the principles taught and asking God, in the name of Christ, to reveal the truth to you, I can give you my personal witness you will feel in your heart the comforting reassurance that you have found the truth. Here is a simple step by step instruction on how to know Mormonism is true.

1. Meet with missionaries.
2. Pray to Heavenly Father with real intent and ask something like this, " I want to know if this is Your church, so is this Your church?".
3. READ THE BOOK OF MORMON! Ask God if it is true.
4. Look for an anwser from God. He speaks with us through our thoughts and feelings by the Holy Ghost. Ask the missionaries for more details.
5. Come to church to see for yourself.
6. Keep the commandments that the missionaries teach you.
7. Repeat until answer is received.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

I am sexually attracted to other males. For awhile, I struggled with how a loving Heavenly Father could allow for me to be attracted to other males, and then ask me to abstain from same-sex relationships. However, as I have tried to deal with my attractions in a Christ-like manner, I have found that He really does love me. I have grown so much spiritually as I have learned to deal with my same-sex attractions. I now understand that everyone has challenges in this life. I am no different.

The Church has a high standard on morality. The only sexual relationships that are permitted are between a man and his wife. This may prove difficult for both people with same-sex and opposite-sex attractions. However, I believe that by obeying this law, we can gain greater peace and happiness. God does know what is best for us, and He gave us this law to bless us.

Same-sex marriage distorts what marriage is all about. It is based on the lie that because you are attracted to the same sex, you need to be in a same-sex relationship in order to be "true to yourself". Many members of the Church can testify that this is not true. Some have found peace and joy in celibacy, and others gone on to have faithful and fulfilling marriages. For a long time, I thought I couldn't get married, but the Lord has blessed me to develop a sexual attraction to a beautiful woman and we have a wonderful marriage.
