Sarah: Sarah, violin, music, Bountiful Utah, Alabama, Eggett, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Sarah

I love to play the violin and I love to bake...especially when there is chocolate involved! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love music. It has been a part of my life since I was 2 years old. I play the violin, the piano and the flute and I love to sing. Music to me is what feeds my soul and strengthens my Spirit. I also love to write poetry. It gives you a freedom to express your feelings in a way that you can't anywhere else. Baking is also one of my favorite things to do. Bread, cookies, cakes, brownies, you name it and I love to bake it.
I love my family. I am the oldest of 2 children. My family and I love to play board games and watch movies together. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Being close to my Heavenly Father is what drives me to do all that I do in life. I want to live with Him again because He loves me and I love Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints because I was born into the faith. It is much more than that to me though. I am a Mormon because it gives me hope. I am a Mormon because I am a seeker of truth and I find the fullness of it in being Mormon. I am a Mormon because of my deep love for Jesus Christ my Savior. I am a Mormon because I have felt the witness of the Holy Ghost telling me that this is the Only completely true church on the face of the earth.

Personal Stories

How has attending Church services helped you?

It is through attending church services that I have gained a greater knowledge of the divinity of our Savior Jesus Christ and of my role in our Heavenly Father's Plan. I feel the spirit which testifies to me of the truths being taught. I am strengthened each week and renew the promises that I have made with God. Without going to church, I would not know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day- Saints is Jesus Christ's true Church on the earth today. Going to Church has helped me to feel God's love for me and to know of my divine potential to one day be with HIm again.

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

First and formost it is by the still small promptings of the Holy Spirit that touch my heart. Secondly it is through other people's words or their actions. Lastly it is by reading the scriptures that I can receive revelation for my personal life. I'm sure there are many other ways, but those are the 3 most apparent in my life.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost has helped me in my life by guiding me in all that I do. It gives me peace in times of unrest and turmoil, and warning against the evils that could destroy my spirit. It helps me to more fully feel the love of God in my life--which heals and helps me live life to the best of my ability..

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

By making right choices we put an armor of righteousness around us, and it allows a greater measure of the Spirit of the Lord to be with us, thus making it easier to make other right choices. Each right choice that I make helps me to maintain my faith and hope in Jesus Christ, which motivates me to follow His example.

What has helped develop greater harmony in your home?

Something that always helps us to have greater harmony in our home is reading the scriptures and praying together every day . If we put the Lord first in our families, then we will have the spirit in our home, which always brings harmony, peace and hope.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

The Book of Mormon has brought me closer to God by the feeling that I get each time that I read it. That feeling is the Holy Ghost testifying to me of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. As I read it I feel happy, peaceful, calm, content, like there is nothing in the world that I would rather be doing. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God because of the many experiences that I have had while reading it. Because it is His word, it always brings me closer to Him.

Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of my life. For a time, when I was young I relied on my parents to know what was true. I decided later that I needed to know for myself. I had been pondering and praying about whether Joseph Smith was truly a prophet the summer before my senior year of high school. In the Church there was a huge youth activity that I participated in that we were celebrating 150th anniversary of the Church. There was a point in that activity that the spirit whispered to me and I heard and felt with all of my heart that Joseph Smith had indeed been a true prophet and had been the instrument in the Lord's hands to restore His church to the earth. He did in actuality see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ! Through the witness of the Holy Ghost I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of the Lord!

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

My knowledge of the Plan of Happiness has blessed my life in so many ways. As the term suggests, it has brought me so much happiness and joy. I know where I came from, that I lived as a spirit child with my Heavenly Father before I was born here on the earth. I am a child of God! That truth helps me feel the love of God and brings me so much peace.
I know why I am here on the earth! I am here to be tested and prepare to meet God again, while finding joy in the journey of life. Because I am here to prepare to meet God, the only way to do that is to follow Him and try my best to do as He would. As I am closer to Him here on earth, I will be more prepared to meet Him in the hereafter.
I have no confusion as to what happens after this life, so when my loved ones die I have a greater understanding, knowledge and hope that I will one day live with them again. Jesus Christ is central to the Plan of Happiness. Because of Him we will all be resurrected, and we can all overcome our sins. That is an amazing gift that enables us to once again be with our loving Heavenly Father, the ultimate goal in the Plan of Happiness. All of this knowledge has brought me peace, and changed my life in giving me an eternal perspective through life's many challenges.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

Although there are many reasons that Mormons go on missions, to put it simply, Mormons go on missions to share the gospel of Jesus Christ that has been restored to the earth. They go on missions to bring others closer to Christ and to share the happiness that they have in being members of this Church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving everyday to fulfill the purpose of my life which is to prepare to meet God and to have Joy. I prepare by choosing the good and wholesome things to fill my life. Things like reading from my sciptures everyday, praying sincerely, and going to church and just keeping the commandments of God to the best of my ability. Every decision that I make is based on my love for my Savior and what He expects of me.
