I am a college student and a lover of movies, music, writing, and reading. I've lived in many places, but Colorado is my home. I've had some awesome adventures in my life so far, and I can't wait to have even more.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this church and its messages are true. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know and love me for who I am--my weaknesses which no one else knows, my fears, and most of all my potential. I'm a Mormon because the gospel helps me live my life in a way that allows me to be the absolute best version of myself and see myself the way God sees me.

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

I rely on prayer every single day! I tell Heavenly Father everything that is going on in my day, I confide in Him, I tell Him thank you for the everyday things, I beg Him for help with every single hard thing that comes along in my life...and the awesome thing is that He really hears my prayers! Heavenly Father hears every single one of my prayers, and He answers them, too. Sometimes it has been through another person simply talking with me and offering comfort. I have felt the worry and doubt in my heart be replaced with peace and patience. No matter how or when God answers my prayers, I know He hears them and always will.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to always be a good example--in my ward, in my family, at my job, in my classes...no matter where I am, I have the opportunity to be a good example to others. The gospel inspires me to do so and shows me how I can.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

One of the most valuable blessings I've received from reading the scriptures is simply peace of mind. I feel confused and frustrated more often than I'd like to admit to myself or to anyone else, but when I turn to the Book of Mormon and take time to reflect on the truths I read, it's like the world pauses and lets me catch my breath. When I read the scriptures, I feel clarity and comfort rather than disorder.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

In the New Testament Paul preaches against homosexual behavior, as does Moses in the Old Testament. In this day, God still speaks against homosexual actions through His holy prophets. Regardless of the good and bad choices we make in this life, we are each beloved sons and daughters of God. We were spiritually begotten of Him before the world was, and He offered the Plan of Salvation to us so that we could return and live with him again after this life. Not one of us here on the earth is perfect. We each struggle with different things on this journey and because of those things we could never return to Gods presence unless a greater power came to our aid. Christ has provided the means whereby we can overcome these things and return to God again. Anything can be overcome, for Christ has already overcome the world Alma 711-14 We strive to love everyone, for everyone deserves that. The Family is being bombarded on every side with the evil influences of Satan, and to stem that tide we must stand for the Sacredness of our Families. We celebrate and honor the Sanctity of the Family, and invite all men and women everywhere to do the same.
In the words of Beloved Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley, "We believe that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God. We believe that marriage may be eternal through exercise of the power of the everlasting priesthood in the house of the Lord.
