Ellen : Mormon.

Hi, I'm Ellen

I went from Rockies to tornado country. I'm a helpless married romantic. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After growing up in the shadow of the Rockies, studying Sociology in Idaho, and turning my interests from people-watching junkie to creative writer, I find much of my time with a pen or laptop in hand for those rare moments of inspiration when I'm not drooling over my new son or spending time with my best-friend-of-a-husband.

Family is my utmost inspiration, and nothing can re-create the feelings or experiences I gain from it. I'm completely mesmerized by the growth of little baby feet that turn into walking, kindergarten feet. I'm mesmerized by the innate ability to fall in love with a perfect stranger, and after years of trial and joy, call that love nothin' but blood. What can I say? I'm a romantic.

Why I am a Mormon

My answer is simple. I know it is true. It is difficult to explain, and even harder to deny. I've always thought of my testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel in similarity to the feelings of falling in love. You know you are in love. You know your love is real, but how do you explain the poundings in your heart? How do you explain your conviction? You just do the best you can.

I am a Mormon because I simply feel it is right. I feel it is right in both my mind and heart. I'm happier for it every day of my life, and to me, that indistinguishable happiness is proof of its truthfulness.

How I live my faith

I feel my faith has woven itself into my personality over a matter of years. It is in many aspects of my lifestyle and habbits. Spending time as a family in gospel matters, reading and studying the scriptures, and praying are everyday occurances. Some may see these things to clutter an already busy schedule, but I find my attempt at a spiritual lifestyle to enlighten and open my life to joy and awesome opportunities.

Currently, my husband and I have the priledge of teaching the delightful and sometimes hilarious four-year-olds in Sunday school. Their simplicity reminds me how to live, laugh, and embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ.
