About Me

I am currently a college student, majoring in Zoology. I enjoy hiking and swimming. In my free time, I write fictional stories and sometimes a little poetry.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose this faith because of all the benefits I have seen in the time I have practiced. I met with missionaries during a grocery trip and have since then felt like a true member of a family. I feel in my heart that His gospel is true.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Every morning and night I pray to our Heavenly Father. I thank Him for all that He has given me, and ask that He give me strength to follow in His path. Every time I pray, I feel His presence and love and that encourages me to do all that I can, and be the very best that I am.

How I live my faith

To help with my branch, I coordinate the bulletin given to church members and guests every sunday. It is my responsibility to ensure that community members are aware of what happens in church and the activities the branch members conduct outside of church throughout the week.

Faith is an undoubting belief that one feels about a subject. Without solid proof, one can feel and know that something is true.

Of all the definitions of faith I have read or heard, I add the simplest and most complete to me, which is the Love of Christ. I cannot think of a better way to describe faith. Love of Christ is the substance of hope in something evident we can not see with earthly eyes. It is the faith in Christ or the love of Christ that enabled Able to make a more perfect sacrifice (Hebrews 11:4). That love is why we believe in Christ, it is why we have grace, it is why we have works, it is why we have belief, it is why we have hope, it is why we have charity, it is the very essence of faith, and faith is the very essence of the Love of Christ

Perfect knowledge is worthless without faith. For instance, most of us have perfect knowledge that applying a pointed pencil to paper will cause a mark. That knowledge will not make a mark if we do not exercise the elements of faith called works (picking up the pencil, applying it to the paper, and making a mark), belief (that doing so will make a mark), and hope (that it actually will make a mark). It is my desire that you would exercise works to find out about Christ and study Him, that you would believe on His words and His life and His sacrifice, and that you would hope that He would have an effect in your life. If you exercise this faith, you will truly come unto Him.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

This question is my all time favorite "tough topic" to discuss. I want to start off right off the bat by saying that no matter what you've been told, or who has told you it, Mormons DO NOT "hate" gays and lesbians. Or ANYONE for any reason. Ever. As witnesses of Christ, we do our best to emulate Him and live as He would have us live. That's not to say that we're perfect, because we're not... but I do know that Christ never hated anyone.

Mormons believe in the sanctity of marriage. We believe that God has ordained marriage, and the sacred powers of procreation, to be between a man and a woman. Sexual relations are a sacred thing. We believe that they are to be reserved for marriage. This law, the law of chastity, applies to every spirit son and daughter of God. It doesn't matter if you are attracted to the opposite gender or your same gender, you are commanded to live a chaste and virtuous life. The neat thing about God is that He's "no respecter of persons". This means that God requires the same things of all of us. We are to remain chaste until marriage, and within marriage chastity means that you only have those sacred relations with your spouse.

As a church, we welcome all who want to draw near to Christ. We love everyone, regardless of circumstance, as Christ loves them. We maintain that every single man, woman, and child on this earth is a son or daughter of God, and we treat them accordingly.
