About Me

I am a wife and mother of two children, with another on the way. I love ice cream, swimming, and reading. I love being home with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ lives, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's church restored here to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying daily to my Heavenly Father that I may have the Holy Ghost always present in my home. I teach my children true principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I try to bring my children to as many service opportunities as possible. Finally, I am always trying to improve on being kind and compassionate to everyone.

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is the largest women's organization in the world. We meet together in our wards, branches, and stakes in order to help lift, encourage, teach, and support each other in our everyday efforts.

To me, Relief Society means friendship. It's an opportunity to know and love and learn from other women from so many different backgrounds and situations and ways of looking at life and yet they are truly my sisters! I can't tell you how many times I have been wrestling with an issue in my own life and there, during the course of our class or other conversation, comes the answer. I know that Heavenly Father so often works through others to answer our prayers, and to me Relief Society is a huge example of that. I'm grateful not only for those who reach out to me, but for the opportunies to reach out to others through Relief Society. It is an inspired program and a wonderful asset to my life!

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Because we believe in continuing revelation through Prophets as in the days of old, i.e. Moses, Abraham, this is uncomfortable for some people because media has made our Prophets seem like evil men leading people astray, when they are just trying to teach us correct principles so that one day we all may return to live with our Father in Heaven.

Another reason is because we believe in the sacred nature of temples, meaning only worthy members may enter the Temple so people think that evil rituals are performed. However, in reality the nature of the temple is uplifting and beautiful and gives us clarity to what the purpose of life is, the plan of salvation, and other topics such as life, death, and the atonement of Christ. The temple is not "secret, but it is sacred. However, we encourage all to live so that they may one day enter the temple.
