Hi, I'm Brad
I live in Ohio. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have five wonderful children. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I joined the Church when I was 21. I was raised in a Christian home with wonderful parents who I love dearly. I grew up the oldest of three boys living in Ohio. We spend our summers playing baseball and riding our bikes. We spent the other nine months of the year wishing it was summer so we didn't have to go to school.
I went to church with my parents for as long as I can remember. In those small Baptist churches were wonderful people. I know they loved the Savior.
As a teenager, I began to wonder why there were so many unanswered questions. Even some of the basic questions could not be answered. Too often the message was inconsistent from church to church, and often in big ways. While
I still went to church with my family, I started to check out of religion.
When I was a senior in high school, I met a young woman who went to a nearby high school. She was a Mormon. I didn't know anything about Mormons. I knew there was something different about her, but I didn't know what it was.
We dated for over three years and she was very patient with me. I carried around a Book of Mormon for all those years and finally decided to read it. Once I started, I couldn't stop. When I read the Book of Mormon when I was 21, my life was changed forever. When I decided to join the Church, she told me not to rush. She want to be sure I knew it was right. I was sure. I joined right then -- 100 percent. I have never wavered in my belief in the Church and never looked back.
Why I am a Mormon
I have read the Book of Mormon and know it is the word of God. The message in the Book of Mormon is about the Savior and our Heavenly Father's plan for us. We are children of a Heavenly Father who has a plan for each one of us. We understand that we are here for a reason and that that life has a purpose and true meaning. So much that is good relates to our families..
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?
I feel very close to my ancestors when I learn about them. Knowing we can be with our family in the next life help me feel a special bond to them.
How I live my faith
I try hard to apply the teaching of the Savior in my life. The Church teaches many amazing things. So much is centered on living our life as the Savior did - being kind and gentile, and having a purpose in the things we do.
