Corey: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Corey

I'm a Farmer. A Hunter and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a dairy farm and have always loved living out in the country and working with cows and horses. One of my most favorite things to do is go horse riding up in the mountains and spending time outdoors. I love hunting and fishing and everything that comes along with it. What makes all these things so special to me is that I get to do all of them with my family, friends and loved ones. I am currently serving a mission in Alabama and it is an amazing expierence!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to have always been apart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I grew up with a family that is strong in the church and surrounded by people who share the same beliefs and live what they belief. As i grew older and realized more what the world was really like it made me appreciate so incredibly much the fact that I am a Mormon. The happiness and joy that come from living the gospel have blessed my life so incredibly much. It has truly given me an understanding of Gods plan for all of his children and I know exactly what i need to do to return to live with Heavenly Father and my family again. The gospel gives me comfort like nothing else can. Through the restored gospel I find true happiness and meaning to my life. Knowing that there is a life after this one and that through following Heavenly Father the way he wants us to we can receive blessings beyond anything we can imagine. I know this is the only true church on the earth. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of god called to restore the fullness of the gospel back to the earth. We have the fullness of the gospel and it is the greatest blessing in my life. That is why i am Mormon!

Personal Stories

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

Our Heavenly Father has blessed us with so many ways to have peace and harmony in our homes. Two of my personal favorites are family scripture study and praying together as a family. All through out my life we always had family study and prayer before we went to school in the morning and I always enjoyed it but I really didnt start to realize how much it helped me and my family until I got a little older in life. During the busy time of farming I would leave for work and 630 am and not return home until around 9 pm so we didnt get to see each other much but every morning my mom would get up early and we would read some scriptures and pray together before I would leave and it would just make the day go so much better and there was definately a difference between when we would do it compared to when we wouldnt. It made us happier as individuals and brought us closer together as a family and I could never thank my parents enough for instealing that into my mind.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

The Book of Mormon trully has brought me closer to my Heavenly Father. I never really realized the importance of the Book of Mormon in my life until i served my mission and I began to see how confused most people are because they do not have this second witness of truth to turn to for knowledge and understanding. I have seen how having only one source about God and his plan for us leaves people with only a limited knowledge of the gospel and no second source to turn to to confirm the beliefs you have. The Book of Mormon trully has given me a fuller understanding of the gospel because of the truths it helps confirm that are in the Bible and the added truths that are only found in its pages. It has also given me a testimony of Joseph Smith which has given me a testimony of the restored gospel and the prophets that are living on the earth today. Which all serve as bringing me closer to our Heavenly Father. Only through the Book of Mormon can we come to a complete knowledge of the gospel and everything weighs upon it.

How I live my faith

I have always believed that actions speak louder than words. I live my faith by striving to be like the Savior and by desiring to live as Christ-like as I can. As a missionary I show my faith by serving others and spreading the message of the restored gospel with everyone. I have always believed that the gospel is a gospel of "action" the Savior taught to be "doers" of the word and not "hearers" only. As we trully serve others as the Savior did it will bring us closer to him and bring us more happiness in this life and in the life to come.
