I'm a Mormon. I am the father of 6 grown children and 22 grandchildren

About Me

My greatest joy is my family. My wife is my best friend in life. I spend most of my spare time doing things with her. I really enjoy watching my grandchildren participate in sports, school concerts, etc. I enjoy playing golf with my friends. I am an avid reader and especially enjoy mysteries.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up in the church it wasn't until I was called to be a missionary that I truly took the steps necessary to gain a testimony.I continue to remain active in the church because I know it is the true gospel. Because I love my family so much it is important that I be a good example as a husband, father and grandfather.

How I live my faith

I love the opportunities that my membership in the church provides me to serve others. In my current position I get to serve the needs of other members in their efforts to be missionaries. I also have the opportunity to visit and teach some members each month and provide service as needed

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Have you ever met a perfect person? I doubt it. Why? Because everyone makes mistakes. When you make a mistake or are confused on what you should do, you want someone to help you, right? We all need someone to help us. We all need a Savior. We always hear that Jesus Christ saved us, but what does that truly mean? It not only means that he suffered and died for you personally, it means that he lived and lives for us too. He wants to help us. Jesus Christ is the only one who underestands everything that we go through. He not only wants to make up for the mistakes we make, but he wants to carry our burdens too. All we need to do is let him carry our burdens. Everyone faces personal challenges and Jesus is there to help. Everyone makes a mistake qa some point in life too. The beauty of having a Savior, is the fact that we can be forgiven. Sometimes our hands get dirty, but they can always be washed clean.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Mormon's are viewed as a cult by some because we do not adhere to the fundamental creeds established by the other Christian churches, such as the Nicene or Athanasian Creeds, and their view of the Godhead. Latter-day Saints are viewed by other Christians just like the early Christians were viewed by the Jews and Romans of the time, which was as a cult, because they strayed from what seemed to them orthodox Judaism. Much like the Pharisees and Sadducees, who viewed orthodoxy through the lens of the rules laid out in the rabbinical law and their interpretation of the Law of Moses, the Christians of today view orthodoxy through the lens of the creeds that were established hundreds of years after the death of Christ under the opinion and counsels of men.
