I grew up in Salt Lake City Utah. I love the outdoors, playing hockey, and spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a software engineer and middle age father of 3. I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking in the beautiful mountains that surround my home. I am a big ice hockey fan and play a fair amount in my spare time.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and thanks to my parent's examples and teachings I gained my own testimony of the gospel and experienced my own conversion.

How I live my faith

In the past I have taught Sunday School classes for youth of the church. I enjoy visiting the members of the church and teaching gospel lessons in their homes. I strive to always be an example of Christ and do and say the things that he would.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Over my lifetime, I have heard countless theories concerning Joseph Smith - his intellect, his integrity, his sanity, everything about him. Some of the stories about him being a prophet sounded convincing... but then, some of the stories of him as a criminal sounded convincing, too. Then I read about Joseph Smith's visitation by the angel Moroni. Moroni told him that his name would be "had for good and evil among all nations, kindreds, and tongues, or that it should be both good and evil spoken among all people." Well, that was certainly a true prophecy. So, it seemed, whether Joseph Smith was a prophet or not, tons of accusations and slander would be said against him anyway! That realization made me understand that only God could confirm whether or not Joseph was truly called of him. I got a strong confirmation of that truth. When others tell me that they "know the truth about the Joseph Smith," I always question their sources - it's usually a book or magazine article, possibly even by an esteemed, intellectual person. But I cannot and will not question my source of the real answer.

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

No. We are fortunate enough in these days to have the blessings of the gospel and the Priesthood available to all. Unlike other times throughout the world's history, God has offered the Priesthood to every worthy male. Women are able to enjoy the blessings of the Priesthood through these men, and are invaluable in blessing the world through their attributes.
