About Me

Where do I even start? You know there are so many things and so many ways that we would use define an individual. Honestly, I love and respect any and every person I meet, even if all I know is their name. Everyone around us is our Brother or Sister, and they face difficulties in life, just like you and me. The last thing I want to do is Judge someone from their appearance, or from their past life or even from the looks they give me. What I strive to do daily is to be an answer to someones prayer, to be the kindest and most genuine person I can possibly be; why? Because I want to live a wholesome life and I want to help others, rather than tear them down, I want to be a benefit in someones life that needs benefit; honestly, don't we all? I want to lift the hanging head and put a smile on that frowning face. I want to be the absolute best person I can possibly ever be. I strive daily to be positive, which, to me, is something that is so important in this World; especially with all of this moral decay that is spreading so quickly. Look we're not perfect, but it is sure a fun journey, take advantage of the opportunities that are presented to you, look for ways to help others and most definitely have fun doing them. Do whatever you can to be happy and positive. Well in a nut shell that's me! Oh yeah and I'm super active in anything physical! Gotta love this life!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a strong Mormon family, but we all have to find the truth on our own. I have had some experiences in life the made me waiver and others the just affirmed my testimony of the gospel. I am Mormon because I have prayed sincerely to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet and it was given to me by revelation that he was. I also prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true and by that same power I knew that it is true! I also know that Christ is my Savior and being Mormon has brought me closer to God.

How I live my faith

I try my very best to be an examplar of Jesus Christ. I served a mission for two years in Louisiana and loved every minute of it! I am striving daily to read my scriptures and say prayers. I attend church every sunday and most of the activities they hold throughout the week. I strive my very best to keep the commandments and covenants or promises I have made with my Heavenly Father.

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe that the Family is the most important social unit for our eternal progression. A family is a unit where you can find peace, comfort and trust when established upon our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that a family is something that can help you in many ways to progress and succeed in life. We believe that families can live together forever through the restored Sealing power of the Priesthood conditioned upon our faith. I know that if we are willing to work together we can function as a family would function and be able to find much peace and solace in the world today.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

It's funny, I used to call the Mormon Church a cult too. I just didn't understand it.

Mormonism isn't weird or strange. Its members don't perform satanic rituals or brainwash teenage boys into walking around from door to door in suits and name tags (nor is anyone forced to -- everyone who chooses to serve a mission does so out of their own free will and choice).
I used to call Mormonism a cult because it seemed foreign and unfamiliar, which I deemed scary. The same thing happened to Jesus' first followers as well: they were accused of cult worship too! Others who understood little of what Mormons truly believe told me lies about so-called "practices" in the church which, in reality, were just made-up stories and falsehoods intended to give the church a bad name.
When it comes down to it, a lot of people just don't understand this church, and lies about it spread like wildfire. Mormons believe that Jesus is the Christ. He is the Savior and the Redeemer of the world, plain and simple.
Is that so weird or cultish?
Today, there are close to fourteen million members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worldwide, and more live outside of the United States than inside. That doesn't seem very cult-like to me!
