Why I am a Mormon

the missionaries came to my home when i was in a trying ttime in my life my mother had just passed away year before and i feeling down about mnissing her and their was nobody that i knew that i could relate to and then the missionaries came and they told me about heavenly father and that he loved me and that he could be someone that i could talk to and he would understand and they were right he was there when i needed him the most and i know that for a fact and no doubt that he is my heavenly father and his son jesus christ came to joseph smith to bring the true gospel to all of us and that president monson is the true and current prophet on the earth today

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

when i became a member i was marrid but then he did not want to follow so we separated and divorced and then i prayed to heavenly father to help me find someone that i could go to church and to grow together in the gospel and then just recently he answered my prayers because now i am married to a wonderful man we love to go to church on sunday and also to the grandin bldg where the book of mormon was published and there we can feel the spirit from the missionaries and also renew and remind us of our knowledge of the book of mormon and how it was brought about we have learned thru prayer to thank our heavenly father for all of our blessings thru prayer that he has brought us together

How I live my faith

i live my life by faith that heavenly father will direct and guide me in all things through out my life as he always has!!!!! my current calling as a teacher in the primary room is great and i just love to see the kids light up when we talk about jesus, helping others and also about being nice to our family members,visiting teaching is also one of my favorites as i go to visit some of the members see how they are doing and how i can them to come closer to heavenly father and how he can help them in their lives as much as he has in mine

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

There is no discrimination or exclusions of race. The Lord says in the bible, "...man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the Heart." 1Sam 16:7. The Lord does not care what race or color you are. All he cares about is you. He loves you.

There are no restrictions. Any such practices have been done away with and all the blessings of the gospel are available to any individual who chooses to follow Christ. This is something I have studied and prayed as I have wanted to know for certain that equality is taught in this church. I have come to know for myself that it is. There is a rich history in the church of black and African membership and there are efforts to celebrate this and other cultural diversity.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Before I was baptized, a missionary told me that I could read the Book of Mormon and find out for myself if it was true. I liked that idea. I've always been a person who wanted to know the truth for myself. After the missionary had suggested I read it, I decided to try. It was a big step of faith to pick up a book and read it without knowing for sure. Over time, I developed a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true.

The same goes for knowing if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true Church of Christ once again established on this earth. A simple prayer to your Heavenly Father can open so many doors of truth.

The real way that I know it is true is how it has helped my life. Without the Church, I'd be lost. I am grateful for it, and for the knowledge I have that it is true.
