Chat With a Mormon Online
My passion is creating... painting. designing. drawing. cooking. photography. I enjoy the fine things in this life... music. nature. culture. literature. art. family. friends. people. I love the things life teaches you and the experiences it offers. I learned how to play piano from my mom. I learned about my heritage in Mexico. I learned the consequences of my decisions in college. I learned who I am and what that means for me in Puerto Rico. I learned to give of myself and love others in Barbados. I learned to dance Salsa in Colombia. And I learned what's most important at Home... family. work. integrity. love. and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
What I know, I know for myself...not because anyone told me or convinced me, but because I searched, pondered, and prayed to know. It's something you FEEL that FILLS you. It's indescribable, yet incredible! Life is full of questions. The world we live in is full of different ideas, beliefs, and philosophies. No wonder so many people opt to avoid organized religion. With so many options, it's too easy to be confused or mislead! I know that the ONLY place we can find the real answers and truth is from it's creator, God. He is our creator, our Heavenly Father. That's why he loves us more than we can comprehend. He hears us, He cares about us, and He WANTS us to be happy and know the truth. Through diligent and sincere prayer, I have come to know that God lives. That He loves ME. That He KNOWS me personally. That He wants me to be happy and to return and live with Him some day. I know He has provided a way for that to happen through His son, Jesus Christ. He is our Savior. I have come to know that His teachings and gospel are found in the Bible and The Book of Mormon. I know that His true church is on the earth today and is lead by a living prophet. I have no doubts. There is nothing in this world that has brought MORE answers, more peace, more comfort, more joy, more happiness, more growth, more improvement, and MORE purpose in my life than this knowledge.
My faith is one of high standards. It's one thing to "talk the talk" and it's another to "walk the walk". My faith has taught me that we are all here on earth to ultimately become like Christ, to live and pattern our lives after his. When I was 21, I decided to serve an 18 month mission for the Church. I was sent to serve in Puerto Rico. It was there that I learned really WHAT it means to "walk the walk". Clearly, I'm no perfect person...far from actually! But I strive to live my life as the Savior would...in thought, appearance, and actions. I try to live putting others first. To serve. To give. To love. To see others as God sees them. To not judge. To forgive. To apologize. To be patient. To help. To uplift. To encourage. To pray always. To respect my body. To stand up for what's right. In essence, be "a light unto the world". Now, how ideal it would be to do ALL of those ALL the time...I'm not quite there yet...but I'm trying!
