I grew up in Idaho. I'm a child Psychologist major. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19 years old and a freshman in college. I've lived in Idaho my whole life. I started going to church when I was 4. I love kids and helping others. I'm a psychology major with a minor in childhood development. I'm the oldest of five. I have a 9 year old sister, a 18 year old sister, a 15 year old sister, a 15 year old brother and a 12 year old brother.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member because this church is the only church I've been to that made me feel like I was worthy and more than just another face. I love having the opportunities to help others and knowing that if I ever need help theres someone there for me. I love the feeling I have when I walk in the building. How much love everyone gives to everyone they meet. I love knowing that people in the church understand that nobody's perfect and their there to help and give support. I love having the gift of the Holy Ghost. having that feeling of comfort. The atonement of Jesus Christ has always been close to my heart. How much love he had for each of us to bleed from every pore and be hung on the cross. My mistakes cost him drops of blood and he loved me enough to do that. I'm grateful for the sacrifice that members of the church have made so that I can be a member. From Nephi to Joseph Smith to my bishop they sacrificed so that I could learn to be more like Christ so I could find the truth. Now it my turn to spread the gospel in anyway I possible can. I love the gospel and I want others to find that love too.

Personal Stories

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

I don't have talents like music, arts, and athletics. My talents consist of having compassion for everything and everyone. I will do anything in my power to help those around me. In this church we have people with all kinds of talents and each one is unique and special and I wish I had some of them. I think having the talent to be compassionate towards others is something thats needed in this world. Each talent is needed in order to build up the kingdom of heaven.

How I live my faith

I am a college student but that doesn't stop me from helping those around me. When I notice my roommates or neighbors need a break from the stress of school I love finding a way to make them smile or just forget about the stress for a little bit. When I was at home I helped my mom with her primary class. I loved seeing the faces of the kids light up when the had discovered something new about the gospel. I think I learned more from them then they did from me a lot of the time. When I started at college was when I got to become a visiting teacher for Relief Society. I loved getting to know the sisters I taught. When I was in young womens I did the same for all the girls in young womens with me. They became my best friends.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Mormons believe that family is the most important. That families can be together forever. Past death, past this life. At the end of the day all we have is family.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

First, I wholeheartedly believe in the "Official Church Answer" to this question. Homosexual behavior is, as the scriptures clearly state, against God's law, just as fornication and adultery are against God's law. There are no exceptions, but there is always repentance.

God loves all of his children. Christ died to redeem all of God's children. To these statements there are also no exceptions. I am firmly conviced that whether a person experiences same gender attraction or not, he or she is still a child of God. God's love for us is constant, but that does not mean that He will always approve of our choices or our behavior.

Through the atonement of Christ, all of our hurts and pains, all of our sorrows and anguish, will be taken away. All of our sins will be forgiven on condition of repentance. All these are His. He paid the price for them, and we have no right to hold on to them.
