Hi, I'm Samuel

I was born in Utah. But I grew up in California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a blonde blue eyed, short kid. I know that there are others shorter, but being 5'6" and having a baby face doesn't really help when I am trying to explain that I am 23. I loving working on computers and writing computer programs. I am an avid gamer. I love to play games where I have to strategize on how to best keep my men alive. I currently have an Associates Degree in transfer studies and I am getting my Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of the church when I was 8. However, every day I choose to be a Morman. I love this church. There is a sense of power and strength associated known that as you do all you can to keep the commandments that Christ our Savior has laid down that you will be saved at the last day. I know that Christ is my redeemer and that he loves me as he loves you. I know we have a loving Father in Heaven. I also know that the Holy Ghost is real, he really gives us promptings and helps us to do what is right. If you are not sure if this church is right for you, I give you this challenge. Try it and see where your live is after you have lived it's teachings. I testify that your life will be enriched and that you will have a greater testimony that Christ loves you.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

I have not always been the best kid. However the Holy Ghost has never let me go very far down a wrong path without helping me return. I know that the holy ghost loves us and that he is interested in helping us.

How I live my faith

Every week I attend church. Not only that but I also devote time in my week to get together with the people in my ward to attend Family Home Evening, where we pray and sing together and we also have a spiritual message. After that we have desert and then we play a game together. I have come to realize that the church is like a big family. I am preparing to dedicate two years of my life in serving my Father in Heaven by teaching people about the gospel. Right now I help organize and coordinate the baptisms in our ward.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

When husbands and wife are married in the temple and then when their family is sealed together then they will be together forever. Families are eternal.

When married by earthly power and the authority of man, our vows are "Until death do you part."

We believe that families can be together forever as part of our Heavenly Father's Great Plan of Happiness. His Work and His Glory is to bring to pass the exaltation and eternal life of man. He wants us to be even as He is and to return home to live with Him again.

Through the ordinances of his Holy Temples, God's son's and daughter's are able to make covenants. Through the power of His Holy Priesthood, be sealed together for all of time and eternity as Husband and Wife, parents and children.

Families were designed and instituted by God with the intent that they be forever. The love we feel in this life does not need to be cut off when we die. Those who have already died are not lost us forever. God has mercifully made a way by which all who would accept these saving ordinances can do so, living or dead.

We perform these ordinances for those who have in the past died so that they may have the opportunity of accepting them on the other side if they so choose to do so.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

A lot of people asked me this question on my mission, and, on the flip side, I asked it to a lot of people as well. Many people were surprised when I read them one verse from the Book of Mormon, that being "Adam fell that men might be and men are, that they might have joy." -2 Nephi Chapter 2 Verse 25.
It's simple the purpose of life is to have joy. Now, joy is not fleeting, it doesn't depart when things get rough, it doesn't have negative consequences nor connotations, and you will never be ashamed to be found having a joyful experience. I think of it this way real joy is that which you would be excited to see the Lord join you in your happiness. If it isn't worthy to be in the Lord's presence, it's probably not real joy. Real joy comes from lasting relationships like father and son, mother and daughter, husband and wife, friends that you would stay with forever from experiences which you always look back upon with a happy memory from making promises to God and keeping them from doing that which is right in the sight of the Lord. That is what real joy is, and when you feel that type of joy, you will feel the love that the Lord has for you in that very moment.
