I was born in Germany but am Canadian. I came to Canada when I was 6 months old. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a software developer team leader. I like to program but don't get to do as much of that as I would like. I am a father of 4 and grandfather of 1 awesome granddaughter.

I own a Yamaha touring bike and like to ride it.

I have served a mission for the church and my wife and I hope to be able to serve together in a few years.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was growing up I always believed that there had to be something greater than man. I figured the universe didn't just create itself. I was mostly happy with my life but then I met some Mormons and started having discussions. After a while I read about Joseph Smith and his vision of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and chills just ran up and down my spine. It thrilled me to think that God still talked to man. I knew it was true... Just knew it in the core of my being.

As I studied more and socialized with "The Mormons" I knew I wanted to be like them and have more spiritual experiences so I joined the church.

How I live my faith

Now I serve in the church. The church gives us the opportunity to serve in many ways, from teaching children and adults to ministering to the spiritual needs of members and friends.

I believe in being honest and treating others well. Every day I try to be a better person than I was before.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Yes! We firmly believe that men and women are equal in the eyes of God and are given separate, but equally important responsibilities here on Earth. Men are given the power of the Priesthood, which allows them to do things for their families and others such as give blessings or baptize individuals. Women are given the sacred responsibility of bringing children into the world and to support their husbands with their responsibilities. Both parents are encouraged to teach gospel principles to their children together and to live in harmony with the Church.
This is not to say women are not encouraged to pursue educational endeavors or career opportunities. Each family is different, we are encouraged to pray and make decisions based on what is best for our families.
Every Mormon woman is different, but we all have something in common. We are all daughters of our Father in Heaven.

My wife is a Mormon, and I love her with all of my heart. She is devoted to serving God, and raising a righteous family. We are equal partners in God's eyes, and her happiness is my enduring goal in life.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

No.

The Church has not practiced polygamy since 1890. Any member found to be practicing plural marriage is excommunicated from the Church. We are not affiliated with any group currently practicing polygamy.
