Zac: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Zac

I'm an archaeologist, a future lawyer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Curiosity has led me in a variety of directions in my life. I love studying mechanics, exercise science, politics, computers, languages, cultures, philosophy, etc. etc. etc. At one time football and wrestling were life. Then I moved on to cars and computers. As my interests have changed I've never lost any of the old.
I have been fortunate enough to live in a variety of places around the world and to learn their respective languages. As a Mormon missionary I served in New Zealand and the Island of Niue, don't worry I hadn't heard of Niue before I was in New Zealand either. As an archaeologists I did research and excavation in Northern Peru. I graduated this year with a degree in Anthropology and now I'm on to law school. I start studying law in the Fall of 2011. I'm hoping I can continue my travels as a law student and as an attorney.
My family is a huge part of my life. They're my best friends and I would choose their company over any other. I have a brother and four sisters, the youngest two girls are adopted. We used to shy a way from ever even using the "A" word until my youngest sister informed me she was more loved because she was adopted. She told me "Zac, mom and dad love me more because I'm adopted and they chose me. They had you and had to keep you. I'm an american angel."

Why I am a Mormon

Faith is an understanding that is found beyond the five senses and beyond simple human reasoning. The five sense and reasoning can be deceived or confused. Faith and knowledge of God come from communing with the Divine and knowing that there is a real, meaningful connection between yourself and God. This type of connection is unlike anything else. I have felt that connection for myself, and as I have interacted with others interested in Mormonism. I have seen individuals' lives change as they have come to a knowledge of God, His Son Jesus Christ and the truthfulness of all of His Scriptures. On occasions when I have felt connected to God, He has allowed me to know of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, the reality of Jesus Christ and the truthfulness of the Bible. I am a Mormon because I believe tenets of Mormonism are revealed by God and that they lead me closer to Him and how He would have me live. I am a Mormon because I believe that Jesus Christ is the head of this church and He reveals His will to a mortal man that servers as President of His Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This pattern of operation having a leader that takes his direction directly from the Divine maintains order and purity of doctrine. That all said, the number one reason I love Mormonism is because I am always encouraged to ask God for myself. To ask whether or not what I have been told by modern church leaders or what I have read in the scriptures is in fact God's revealed teachings. That is how I believe an all knowing, all powerful, just God would operate His Church.

How I live my faith

As best I can. For me it is about always trying to be better, more like Christ. Ultimately, I think it comes down to how I treat my fellow man. Which I try to be better at constantly.
