I am a mother of three wonderful boys. My parents both had pioneer ancestry. My father's grandfather was over 100 in the handcart company and a recorder. I love to read. I love to play the piano. I love to run and hike. I love animals. I love people and talking with them. I went to school as to be a court reporter. I live in Utah and love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am married to a wonderful man who is a Methodist. He has a wonderful family.
I was born with very wonderful, faithful, loving, unjudgmental parents in the LDS Church. They taught me to love the Lord and love the Book of Mormon. They lived the way they taught. I am very blessed.
I love and respect the Prophet Joseph Smith. The more I study and read about him and his life I realize what an inspirational person he was at such a young age. I know he had great faith and love for the Savior to endure so much hatred and abuse. He gave everything to the Savior to help others learn of Jesus Christ. He loved his family so much. He loved all people. He loved the gospel so much that he wanted to share it with everyone. He lived worthy to have the Lord's spirit with him. He knew he had seen God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ and no matter what anyone said to him, he could not deny the truth. He had a wonderful family who had great faith and they believed him and supported him. He is a hero I can never thank enough for obeying Jesus Christ and fulfilling the mission he was sent to do. I know he was a true prophet of Jesus Christ just as Moses, Abraham, Noah, and all the other great prophets were in the Bible. I honor and love him. I hope one day that I will be able to thank him personally for the life he lived for everyone has been blessed because of him.
I play the piano and organ. I have had many opportunities to accompany for church solos and for sacrament meetings. I also teach piano and love to hear children learn to play so they can in turn serve others with their talents.
I remember playing bringing our pet snake out on the lawn and putting him down and within seconds he was lost in the grass and we couldn't find him as he wove underneath. After looking for quite some time we said a prayer and I got up and walked some distance from where we had been looking and put my hand down in the grass and felt him right there. I knew that my prayer had been answered. I thanked Jesus Christ for helping me find our snake. I also remember being in the hospital when my son was in extreme pain and had the some priesthood holders give my son a blessing and his pain immediately subsided. I knew my prayers had been answered.
When we make right choices we are blessed and we also associate with those who help us be our best and then we make more right choices because we feel good.
Mormons go on missions because they love Jesus Christ and his teachings and know the happiness and fulfillment they bring when Jesus's teachings are understood. We want everyone to have the opportunity to hear about the Savior's plan and love he has for each of his children and the possibility to live with him and with their families for ever and ever.
The Book of Mormon has answers to all questions I have. I love to write my favorite scriptures in my journal. I start reading the Book of Mormon and I have a hard time putting it down. There are so many answers to every situation I find myself in. No matter what my concern is, there is an answer. I believe in personal revelation and because of this my prayers are answered many times through the scriptures. The scriptures bring peace and comfort to me when I am scared or discouraged. When I feel good the scriptures make me feel better. Any question I have is answered in the Book of Mormon. I know it is the word of God and reading it will bring me closer to the Lord.
I am so thankful for the Plan of Happiness. I have the most wonderful, faithful, intelligent, unselfish, loving parents a girl could ever had been raised with. My father died this past August and even though I miss him so much, I know that I will be with him and see him again. I know that we will be a family in heaven after death as much as we are here and that we will associate together as families in heaven. Because of this knowledge I am not sad and don't cry over his death. I only think about how busy he is in his next stage of life. I know he still lives and that he always will. This brings me so much peace. I know the sister I never met because she died after 3 days of life will be there to meet me when I die. Families are forever and being sealed to my family is one of the greatest blessings on earth.
When I attend church services I grow by hearing testimonies of others. I also grow when I hear principles of the gospel and ways for me to become better in my weak areas. I feel lots of love from friends at church services. I feel closer to my Savior when I take the sacrament and hear beautiful talks and music. I know I am following the Savior by honoring him by attending church services. I feel the spirit of the Holy Ghost and know I doing what is right.
I play the organ in my Ward and teach Relief Society. I have been the pianist for the Special Needs Mutual which has about 200 people attending a special needs person with an assigned counselor who is a junior or senior in high school. I love to feel the special needs' testimonies of Jesus Christ. They are so pure and honest in their feelings and love for the Savior. This builds my testimony. I attend church every Sunday I possibly can and this builds my love for the Lord and his kingdom. I love to go to the Holy Temple and feel the peace and joy serving in His Holy House.
