Hi, I'm Dionne
I am a Kiwi. I am madly in love with my precious little family. I am a Polkadot and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I was born in here in New Zealand (this is why I refer to myself as a 'Kiwi'). I love this country and feel very blessed to live in such a beautiful land.
I have many fond memories from my childhood, many of which are actually from when we lived overseas in Australia and America for a period. My family moved around a lot, but that was something I always enjoyed and that I feel our family benefited from as it made us rely on each other in new situations.
As a teenager I ventured off on my own to Texas as an exchange student for a year, and I regard this as one of my big 'life changing' experiences. I think it helped me to realize that the world did not revolve around me, and also helped me to realize what kind of person I wanted to be.
I was lucky enough to marry an amazing person, who actually laughs at my jokes, and doesn't seem to mind if I'm a bit crazy sometimes! (in a fun way of course..)
We have been blessed with 3 delightful daughters with whom we are completely besotted. They are all fairly close in age, and are so much fun to watch play together. In fact that is when I am the happiest, when I am just hanging out with my little family.. I still have to pinch myself, because I sometimes find it hard to believe that I am living my dream!
These days our lives are pretty "Polkadotty", as my sisters and I have started a children's entertainment group known as "The Polkadots". We sing, dance, learn and play with our kids and it is heaps of fun!
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is absolutely true. I know that the Savior Jesus Christ is the head of this Church and in him I can place my trust and faith.
Being a Mormon to me means putting my family first, and creating bonds with them that will last into the eternities. Being a Mormon to me means that I strive to follow my Savior Jesus Christ and all that that encompasses. Being a Mormon to me means sacrifice of temporal things for things of a much greater nature.
It means everything to me because of the true peace and joy it brings into my life and for that I am so incredibly grateful.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by praying continually to my Father in Heaven through my Savior Jesus Christ. I know that they hear and answer my prayers and this guides my life.
I strive to keep the commandments, and apply the scriptures to my life in a practical way.
I serve the youth in our ward, by volunteering as one of their leaders.
I try to be the best Mother and Wife that I can be and I try to treat all others the way that I personally would like to be treated (as much as possible).
At times I feel like there is way too much for me to do in order to be the kind of person that I would like to be, but I know that I just need to do my best, work on one thing at a time and my Savior will cover the rest.
