About Me

I am about to start college this fall. I enjoy playing the piano and anything to do with music. I like vintage things, whither really vintage or not, I like the look and feel of it. I feel children are wonderful, and should be enjoyed.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but I stay because I love everything about it. I love what the gospel teaches and the happiness and peace it brings to my life. I know what happens when I'm lax about things, and I know that everything is better when I am striving to live the Gospel. I am very thankful to Heavenly Father for blessing me by giving me an amazing family strong in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

In my church I am the chorister for the primary children ages 3-11. I love teaching them the songs and just being around them. They know a lot more than we give them credit for. I also love serving others, especially in the community. I recently organized a discussion between pastors of other faiths and the youth of our church, to gain a religious understanding and tolerance of each other.

How is the Book of Mormon different from the Bible? How did Joseph Smith obtain the “golden plates” or Book of Mormon?

The Bible is a testament of Jesus Christ in ancient times in the middle east. It also tells of Christ's ministry and His gospel. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ in ancient America and His interactions with the people there. The last person to write and abridge the Book of Mormon, or the Golden Plates, was the prophet Mormon. He then buried the plates. In the spring of 1820, a young boy, Joseph Smith, prayed to see which of the churches were right. He then received a vision, where God the father and his son Jesus Christ appeared and told them that the true church of God was not on the earth. He was later told where the Golden Plates were buried, and also later translated them into English from Egyptian.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

First, I wholeheartedly believe in the "Official Church Answer" to this question. Homosexual behavior is, as the scriptures clearly state, against God's law, just as fornication and adultery are against God's law. There are no exceptions, but there is always repentance.

God loves all of his children. Christ died to redeem all of God's children. To these statements there are also no exceptions. I am firmly conviced that whether a person experiences same gender attraction or not, he or she is still a child of God. God's love for us is constant, but that does not mean that He will always approve of our choices or our behavior.

Through the atonement of Christ, all of our hurts and pains, all of our sorrows and anguish, will be taken away. All of our sins will be forgiven on condition of repentance. All these are His. He paid the price for them, and we have no right to hold on to them.
