About Me

I love being a wife and a mum and spending time with my family. I grew up touring with my parents and siblings as we performed around Australia. I've always sung and believe that music can touch souls.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon household but it wasn't until I was 15 that I wanted to really know if it was true. I prayed about it and felt a peace about it that I hadn't felt about anything before. I knew that it was true. Once you know something like that, it directs your life to places you would never expect and blesses your life like you wouldn't believe!

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

Just like love, a talent is worth nothing unless it is shared with others.

What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?

My faith has sustained me through personal trials including losing my brother in a car accident. Because of my belief in eternal families, I don't feel despair. I am blessed with a peace that even though I may not understand the reason for all things, that I am loved and that I can see him again.

How I live my faith

My husband and I feel responsible for those in our community and so do what we can to help others. Whether it's being someone to talk to, or helping friends move or clean. I find it helps me keep an eternal perspective on my life and how blessed I am, and reminds me not to take anything forgranted.
I also work with the Young Women in my area aged 12-17. We have activities on a Thursday night where we learn about different core values like Integrity and Virtue. We try to always make activities fun or spiritually uplifting or both! We also learn together every Sunday about how we can integrate the gospel into our lives.

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe that families can be together forever, that we can be sealed together through the power of God.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

No. There have never been any race-related restrictions on who joins the church. People of all races and colors have been baptized from the beginning.

However, for a period of time priesthood ordinations in the Church were restricted - This policy was officially changed in 1978 when Official Declaration declared that “every faithful, worthy man in the Church may receive the holy priesthood, with power to exercise its divine authority, and enjoy with his loved ones every blessing that flows therefrom, including the blessings of the temple. Accordingly, all worthy male members of the Church may be ordained to the priesthood without regard for race or color.”
