I am a Small Town Girl, Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Grammy, Friend, Artist, Photographer, and Outdoor Adventurist.
I love to create paper crafts, I do decorative painting and I am learning to quilt. I love the outdoors and go fishing and camping as often as I can. I am also a hobby photographer.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I grew up a member of the church only to become inactive as a young adult. I never doubted the truth.. I just had a hard time going back. A friend was converted by Missionaries. She continually asked me questions about the church. One day she asked me if I believed so strongly why wasn't I going to church? I had no answer for her. I'm not naturally a very outgoing person and I guess the fear of not knowing anyone was keeping me away. One Sunday Morning I had a very strong desire to get up and get to church. I have been active since that day and recently received my Temple Endowments. My ward is very friendly and make me feel very welcome. They are my Brothers and Sisters. I believe in Christ. I believe if I live his commandments and serve others I will return to live with him one day. I believe the Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ. I belong to his true Church. I have learned this by reading and studying my scriptures regularly, praying and attending my church meetings. I am able to partake of the Sacrament and renew my covenants that I made with Christ each Sunday.

How I live my faith

Faith is believing in something even if you don't quite understand it. To increase that faith and understanding I continue to read and study gospel literature. I read the Ensign, which is a church magazine. I read and study my scriptures. I pray regularly and ask Heavenly Father to lead and guide me. I watch General Conference which is held twice a Year in April and October. I am able to listen and learn from the Prophet and Apostles and other General Authorities. How amazing is that? To have a Prophet on the Earth today to teach and council us.
I continue to work on Christ like attributes that will help me become more like him. I want to be a good example to my Family, Friends and Neighbors.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

we will talk about how you can be with your family and loved ones forever.
we will talk about how the gospel of jesus christ has been restored to the earth and the evidence of this restoration which is found in the book of mormon.
we will talk about how god continues to talk to his children like he did in biblicial times!
we will talk about the steps that you need to take to insure eternal happines!
we will talk about any other questions you may have about god, Jesus Christ, and about this church.

I served a mission in South Korea for two years, so I can tell you. :) The missionaries will probably be as nervous as you are as they arrive at your home. The nervousness does not come from timidity or a lack of belief in the message they bring, but because they want so much to express their testimonies and the Spirit they feel to you.

The missionaries will likely introduce themselves and get to know you and your family. Though missionaries are called by God to preach His word, they come from largely every-day backgrounds and have lives likely much like yours.

After getting to know your family, they will likely ask what questions you may have about life or the Mormon church. Using the scriptures and their own personal experiences, they will seek to help you find answers. Don't be afraid of asking any question or thinking you may offend or sound silly to the missionaries. They are called to help and serve and are very understanding.

After answering your questions and sharing a spiritual message, the missionaries will ask you to act on the message. A soccer player does not listen to his coach during practice only to go home without kicking a ball, right? In the same way, the missionaries will invite you to read a chapter of scripture or seek for yourself that what they are saying is true. You don't have to just take the missionaries' word in what they say--a loving God is happy to answer thoughtful, earnest prayers seeking for the truth.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Be honost and realize how damaging pornography is to yourself. Because of its damaging influence on self-esteem pornography also damges your relationship with others. So I would say, just get away from it and get an army of people to help you do so if necessary! When you get away then you'll see the joy and happiness the influence of pornography takes you away from. With this awakening, youll want to warn others to get away from the deception of pornography.
