Hi, I'm Marcus
I'm a Texan, a volunteer missionary, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
Currently, I am surving a mission in the Nebraska Omaha Mission field. I feel like I've grown more in this short time of serving than ever before in my life. I meet new people everyday and love being a missiononary. Prior to coming on a mission, I went to LDSBC. I plan on getting a degree in Engineering and I hope to go to BYU in the future.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. But that's not why I consider myself a Mormon. Growining up I had always lived by the testiomonies of my family and friends, but the time came when I needed to gain my own testimoney. I didn't have an amazing conversion story, I just reflected on my life and thought about how blessed I was. I have two loving parents who follow the commandments and who have taught me the same. I looked at the rest of the world and saw how so many people don't have what I have. I thought about how blessed I was. Then I just kind of thought to my self. "You know this is true. Why are you even asking?"
So when people ask "Why are you a Mormon?" I tell them I am a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know it is Christs' restored gospel on this Earth. I know that this church is lead by a prophet of God. I know the Book of Mormon, the keystone of our religion, is a true book. And I know this because I have seen the blessings that come from this gospel.
Personal Stories
Think about your everyday activities. What are things you act upon each day where you cannot see the end results? How does faith move you to action?
I am a missionary, and many personal experience are sure to come. As I teach others, I hope to learn from them as well.
How I live my faith
I feel like living ones faith takes more than just going to church. Our faith should affect every decision we make. And my faith helps me make the right decisions everyday. I am living my faith right now by serving as a Missionary. I have set apart two years of my life to teach the gospel. It hasn't been easy and I have had to sacrifice a lot, but what I have sacrificed is nothing compared to the joy that comes from teaching others the gospel. I love this work!
