Some people have described me as gregarious, deep thinking, compassionate, creative, and individualistic. My husband describes me as unique, suprising, and tough. I describe myself as determined, idealistic, and an incessant dreamer. My life began in Davenport, Iowa as the first of four children born to loving parents. My father was a news broadcaster and my mother raised us kids, sharing her love of music and art. The broadcasting industry forced us to move sixteen times by the time I was fourteen, which at that time, my father became a finicial advisior, allowing us to settle in Tucson, Arizona. My parents and siblings still live there ... along with a piece of my heart. At the age of twenty, I married my best friend, Dave, and moved to Utah ... it is still our home today. We have three children and love to camp, offroad, and explore the lands around us. My children can out name any other child when it comes to wild plants and birds ... something that makes me proud. They are also kind to those around us and recieve praises from all the neighbors ... which makes me even more proud. The relationships with my family come first in my life. After that I pursue my dreams, of which I have many. My goal is to make those dreams into reality. It isn't always easy, but I have learned that if I am patient, they always come true. A few of my favorite things are forgotten places, outragous ideas, intriguing histories, and delicious flavors. Oh ... and birds. I love birds.
Being a Mormon for me is a conscience choice. Even though I was raised in the Church, I have challenged its teachings and doctrines many times in my life. But, I always came back to the opinion that it is the only way for me to return to my Heavenly Father. That is the simplest reason why I'm a Mormon. The more in depth reason is because I believe that families can be together forever. I believe there's more to life than what we see on this earth. I believe that the doctrine of Jesus Christ has been restored from its orginial design and is available in its fullest to men today. I believe that helping others is one of the most important responsibilities of life and that by serving mankind, I am serving my God. I believe my God wants me to have joy in this life. I believe that by following Christ's example I will find that joy. I believe that there are certain laws, earthly and heavenly, that we choose to either obey or break, knowingly or unknowingly. I believe that God speaks to his children, through personal prayer and his prophets. I believe that God has spoken to men from all cultures, some we are aware of, some we are not. I could go on and on about the things I believe in. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only church I've found who supports my own beliefs. That is why I am a Mormon.
I try my best to live what I believe in. I attend church regularly and volunteer in its activities and organizations. I help others when I can, with either a listening ear, helping the single women in our neighborhood, and offering donations to community shelters and food banks. I listen to the prophets teachings and prepare my life according to their counsel. I keep my heart turned to Christ and my Heavenly Father, trusting their word. I search the scriptures for words of wisdom and uplifting messages to help see me through life's hard times. I love my family and teach them what I believe in, always encouraging them to ask Heavenly Father if what I have found is for them as well. I love my Faith and am so grateful for the blessings that it has brought me!
