Hi, I'm Ann
I teach the performing arts to preschoolers. I'm a single mom. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a single mom of two amazing teens. I work in the performing and visual arts. I love to read.
Why I am a Mormon
I was raised in a family that belonged to the Church. Although I had feelings when I was younger that what I was learning was true, it really wasn't until my marriage began to dissolve that I learned for myself in an undeniable way that what I believed was true. As my "happiness" crashed around me, I took a good look at the things I had learned and what I believed. What I saw was a simple, clear truth that never faltered, that provided answers, and was a firm foundation that stayed under me when other things fell. Living my life in harmony with the teachings of Jesus Christ has meant that I always have real happiness no matter what!
Personal Stories
How does making right choices help us make more right choices?
Every choice has a consequence. When I make a wrong choice the consequences hurt, physically, emotionally, or spiritually. And when I make a right choice the consequences help. Every time I choose to do something that helps me, I get a little bit stronger, smarter, and kinder! That makes it easier to make better choices that bring those same good consequences.
How I live my faith
I start each day with a prayer and talk to my Father in Heaven about what I've got planned for the day, I ask Him what He'd like me to do, and I ask for His help. Then I work my way through the day... getting the kids off to school, going to my jobs, maintaining our home, visiting with friends, paying the bills... whatever I've got to get done. As I go I keep a prayer in my heart and find that I have the strength to do what needs doing, wisdom to make good choices, love to share with those around me, and most of all comfort when things are really hard (and believe me it happens a lot!) At the end of each day I pray again and talk to my Father about how it all went, I thank Him for all He did for me, and I ask forgivness for the mistakes I made. I can't imagine getting through life any other way. Just knowing that I don't have to struggle along on my own, that I have divine help, and a plan for my life makes it so much easier to live each day with peace, happiness, and love!
