I love to read, craft, cook & be active. I love learning new things, whether it's a new skill or an obscure fact. I love to spend my days with my family and getting all the joy I can out of life. Life is a bit crazy sometimes, but it's always an adventure.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in church, but have come to know for myself of the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I read, I asked & I was given a powerful answer. I'm a Mormon because I know God loves me, that Christ is my Savior. I'm a Mormon because being one makes me happy, helps me live a more full life, & helps me understand my purpose.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life so that I'm always an example of my faith and the Savior. I serve in a presidency that presides over the girls aged 12-18 years old in our congregation - the Young Women organization. I try to help the girls solidify their testimonies in Christ and realize their worth as daughters of God. I help teach them skills that will help them as they grow and become women and leaders in their families and communities. I also teach on a gospel principle during our Sunday meetings and help the girls plan and implement weekly activities.

In my family I live my faith by praying and by reading & studying the scriptures. By teaching my daughter about Jesus Christ & His love for her.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a personal spiritual witness given to a person through the Holy Ghost. It is based on the knowledge that God lives and loves us that Jesus Christ lives & provided the Atonement for us that Joseph Smith is a prophet and was called to restore Jesus Christ's church to the earth and that we have a living prophet who leads us today and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored church on earth today.

For some the witness may come over time, "precept upon precept." For others it is a single distinguishable moment. Everyone is entitled to a witness for themselves. They only need pray and ask with a real intent.

I know, without a doubt, that these things are true. I prayed and asked and the Holy Ghost gave me a sure, undeniable answer.

A testimony in the church is a spiritual witness given to an individual by the Holy Ghost that something is true. The Holy Ghost is a spirit, who is a member of the Godhead. His primary work is to testify, or be a witness, of Jesus Christ and of all truth. However, the Holy Ghost will rarely speak to us in words. Instead, He "pricks our hearts" (see Acts 2) and gives us a feeling of peace and joy, or a feeling of burning and swelling (the good kind) within our hearts. If we seek truth with real intent and pray to God that He will make it known to us, the Holy Ghost will bear witness of truth to us.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

We certainly do not. As a Mormon I've constantly been taught about the importance of family and how to strengthen those bonds. My mother and father exemplify the ideal of loving parents and I am so grateful for that loving bond my 5 siblings and I share with our mom and dad. Our faith does not teach, condone, accept, or defend polygamy in any way.
