I'm a wife. I'm a mother of two sweet and lively boys. I live in sunny Southern California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a small town in Utah. I met and dated and married my husband in college. I have a degree in business. We moved to Southern California for further school and jobs. I am a small-town girl with a soft heart for big cities!

We have been blessed with two adorable little boys. My husband is an attorney, and I am blessed to be able to be with my sweet boys full-time.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Since I know it is true, I understand that the blessings of being a Mormon are eternal and endless. One of the blessings I have found in my life is that I am happy. Because I am Mormon, I was able to meet and marry my husband, a handsome man of high values, strong ethics, and a love for family life. We are making a happy life together and the Gospel guides our everyday decisions.

How I live my faith

I am so blessed by my Church, and I love to give of my time and talents by serving in The Church. Currently I work with a board of women who lead the organization of young children in our congregation during Sunday School. I also visit a few women in my congregation each month to build friendships and share an inspiring message.

My two little boys are the most important people in my life and I want them to grow to have a close relationship with the Savior. Teaching them and setting an example for them is what I consider to be one of the most important ways I can live my faith.

What is the Relief Society?

The Relief Society is the largest women's organization in the world. It was established through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1842 and plays a major role in the church.

When I moved to Los Angeles from Utah, I was definitely in for some culture shock. I wondered what others thought of our church. I worked for a bank and worked with the bishop main leader of my ward. When he had some health issues and left work for a week, my boss who worked closely with my bishop started receiving phone calls right away from the Relief Society. They wanted to know what they could do to help.

My boss came to me and asked me how they knew? She asked, "How does your church already know that something happened? Do they have hidden cameras on top of the Los Angeles temple?

I informed her that no, there weren't spy cameras on the temple. The church has something better than that! Part of the Relief Society's purpose is to help those in need. They found out there was a need and they wanted to help. It was a testimony to me and those I work with that the Relief Society is divinely inspired.

The Relief Society is the organization in the Church where women come together to strengthen, serve, and teach each other. It's Motto is "Charity Never Faileth" which women of the Church live by to bring relief to the weary and down trodden. Women meet as a Relief Society each week to learn about the Gospel and grow closer to Jesus Christ. Women are asked to serve in many capacities within the Relief Society and give of their time and talents. There are also activities where women share skills and do service for those in their community as well as victims of disasters around the world.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

There are doctrinal answers to why we believe we need a Savior to redeem us from the Fall of Adam and to return us to our Father in Heaven that you'll probably come across here. But let me tell you why I need a Savior personally and what He does for me. Christ suffered personally for my pains, sorrows, and sins so that if I ask Him too, He can take them from me. I have been the victim of abuse in my life, and yet through Him I have been able to lay it all at His feet, freely forgive, feel peace, find love, and understand how important negative life experiences can be in teaching us humility. Daily He takes my pain and replaces it with pure love so that I am no longer a victim, but a victor. I need a Savior because He knows me, and through him my flaws become strengths and my pain becomes peace.
