About Me

I am the type of person who likes to Randomly Smile at Stores so that I can see how many people I can get to smile back. I grew up in Maryland and then moved down to Florida and then Back to Maryland then moved to West Virginia, and now I live in Montana. So I grew up as a military brat and I am still one even though my parents are retired from it. I am very Artisitc and I like to draw, paint and be in theature.

Why I am a Mormon

I am mormon because I have grew up being mormon, and I have followed my parents in the church, but the first time when I knew for sure that this is the true church was when I was reading the Book of mormon. I haven't read it daily since I was a kid but that month as I was trying to read every night and that one night I thought "Is this true, really, really, true?" and so I prayed. I asked God for the truth and I got this warm feeling in my chest and a calming feeling, then in my head a thought came to mind, "yes, this is true." So ever since I've known the truth and I've chosen to be in the church like my parents.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

We as Mormons go on missions so that we can share the Gospel to others because we are so excited about what we have and we want others to hear the gospel as well. We want others to experience that joy and peace that comes with out message. We want people to add to the treasures that they have so that they can make that complete. We want the people to have the companion of the Holy Ghost with them always and so that they can know what happenes after they die and why they are here and the true importence of the Atonement that Jesus Christ did for all of us! We want people to know the whole truth of the gospel.

How I live my faith

Back when I lived in West Virginia I Served in the childrens class as one of the teachers and that class was for four year olds and younger. So I was their teacher helping them learn of Jesus Christ. Even before that we had an autistic child who I was called to try and work with in the church so that his mother can attend meetings. And now I am serving a Religous Mission for God to help others come closer to him and to add to the others treasure and so that the people I come in contact with will grow in the faith that they have in Jesus Christ. I also enjoy helping others. I also live the best I can with the commandments God has set forth for man(and woman) kind. I also do my best at helping others with things that they need done, For example I help with cleaning something of theirs or carrying in bags of food and such. But that is a few ways that I live my faith.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The word of wisdom is just a law of health given to Joseph Smith in 1833 by God. We are told about the things that we should and shoulden't take into our bodies. The things we sould not take into our bodies are Tobacco, Coffee, Tea, Illegal drugs and Alcohol. Things we should take into our body are good things. For example breads and vegetables and fruits then the meats we can eat and other grains. So our body is a temple, a house of God a place where the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost which is the same thing where we want to keep our bodies clean and healthy so we are better able to feel the Spirit and to better follow the proptings of God. And when we do keep the Word of Wisdom we are blessed with better health so that we can stay fit and so that we can keep our minds healthy so we can learn better and recive knowladge that we need.

The word of wisdom is the Lord's law of health. We abstain from drugs, tobacco, alcohol, coffee, and tea, and are encouraged to eat wholesome food and grains, and not eat excessive meat. I am asked all of the time by my fellow residents at the hospital why I don't drink coffee, and how I can stay awake all night on call without it. I don't consider it a sacrifice, though, and am as awake and perform as well as any. It is true that the body will be more healthy when following the word of wisdom, the but the main benefit is spiritual. The knowledge that you are in line with the the Lord's teaching is the most important thing.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

No. Mormons do NOT practice polygamy. There are many people outside the Church that say otherwise, but that doesn't change the truth of the matter.

There is nobody living on this earth right now who can truly claim to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who practices polygamy. It is against the law, both of the land and of the Church. We do not approve of such things.

There are some groups of people who do practice this and also claim to be Mormons, but I assure you that they are not in any way affiliated with this Church.
