I was raised in Arizona but currently living in Oklahoma. I studied education in college and I love teaching. I am married to the man of my dreams. He has changed my life in so many ways. He introduced me to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when we were in high school and we have been married for almost 3 years. The rest is history...

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Catholic for nearly 18 years. My family is wonderful and more than I could ask for. I was taught to cling to my family and love one another. My husband and I met while we were in high school and he was born and raised LDS, but I was not. We had a lot in common but there was one main difference; our religion. My husband knew what he wanted for his future... to go on a mission, get married and be sealed in the temple. Unlike me, I did not. I had something missing in my life. I wanted to embrace the Lord like my husband did. I saw the happiness in his life and I needed that in mine. So, he mentioned the idea of reading The Book of Mormon and a visit with the missionaries. After a few months of reading on my own and getting my questions answered I KNEW this was what I wanted. I knew that joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was for me, and only ME. I am eternally grateful for my husband and my life changing decisions.

How I live my faith

My faith shines from true conversion. I love being a convert to the church. It has been almost 7 years! One of the best ways for me to live my faith is through teaching. I currently teach a small group of children at church that are 3 years old. I love that I can teach them about Christ and loving our families. I love that I can read the scriptures and say prayers with them. They bring the Spirit into my life tremendously.

I attend church to better understand how Christ wants me to live and to feel the support from family and friends who are trying to do the same.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Temples are houses of the Lord, the most sacred structures on the earth.

Anciently, the Lord directed Solomon to build a temple 1 Chronicles 281-6. This temple was a place where God could dwell, was a place of prayer, was a place of sacrifice and was a place where the principle and covenant of sacrifice was fundamental to worship.

At the time of the Restoration, the Lord commanded Joseph Smith to once again build temples on the earth. Like ancient temples, today’s temples are also sacred places where God may dwell they are places of prayer and, although we no longer offer animal sacrifices because that was done away with when Jesus Christ became the Eternal Sacrifice for our sins, the principle and covenant of sacrifice is fundamental to our temple worship.

In temples, Church members participate in ordinances designed to unite their families together forever and help them return to God.

In the temple, members

* Learn eternal truths.
* Receive sacred ordinances, including those that bind husband and wife together for eternity, as well as join children and parents Malachi 45-6.
* Provide ordinances such as baptism for those who have died without the opportunity to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1529 1 Peter 46

A temple is a house of the Lord, a place where we may worship our Heavenly Father and feel of His presence. It is a sacred place where no unclean thing can enter. Because of the importance and sacredness of the temple, a temple recommend is required and is received based on individual worthiness within the church in order to enter its holy walls.

The temple is where I go to find answers, to find peace, and to feel the Spirit. We are encouraged to go as often as possible and to attend seeking Spiritual guidance. Inside we perform sacred ordinances for ourselves and more often for others, those who are deceased. God requires that all to make covenants in order to return to His presence and many died without the opportunity to make these covenants. In the temple we perform the ordinances for them in their name giving them the opportunity to reject or accept the ordinance and thus enter into the presence of the Father. The temple is a very sacred and holy place.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

To make the administration of this world-wide church possible, the church is organized into geographical regions and sub-regions. The most basic administrative unit is called the "ward". The wards in the church vary in size but are comprised of a geographical area with anywhere from 300 to 700 members. The ward is presided by a bishop. A group of five to twelve wards are combined to form a "stake". A stake is presided by a stake president.
In regions of the world where there is a lesser concentration of members, "branches" are formed. These branches are equivalent to wards but usually have less members. A branch is presided by a branch president.
This organization makes it possible for 14 million members to each have local leaders that can provide guidance, teaching, and administering of the sacred ordinances of the gospel
