Hi, I'm Amy
I'm a mom, a wife and a businesswoman. I own AppleCheeks cloth diapers and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I'm from Montreal and am married to a wonderful Samoan man who was raised in New Zealand. Together we have three very big boys and I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on my own birthday - what a special birthday present! I adore my kids and really enjoy being active with them in the outdoors. My husband and I play sports with our kids, walk them to school and enjoy family cuddles.
Together our family spends lots of time enjoying nature and I would for sure consider myself an environmentalist. Taking care of our Earth while taking care of our family is so important to me. In 2007 I started my own business manufacturing and wholesaling cloth diapers. Becoming a businesswoman was surprising to me but a natural fit. As I have developed my business into what it is today, I have learned to use my natural talents in sales and business. Managing family life, business and everything else is a challenge I truly enjoy...almost every day.
Why I am a Mormon
I was raised in a loving home but with no faith and no religious teaching. In high school I decided I wanted to go to a church. My mother helped me find all the local churches in the yellow pages. At that same time I met a lovely LDS family and it was due to their example that I became interested in the Mormon Church. I was baptized when I was 16 years old and have never looked back since; it was the best thing I have ever done in my life.
Personal Stories
Think about your everyday activities. What are things you act upon each day where you cannot see the end results? How does faith move you to action?
My life is crazy - good - but crazy. I have four very busy children and a husband with whom I want to spend as much time as possible. I also run a serious business, have a very active social life and volunteer in Church and my community. There are days when I think I cannot do it all but mostly I enjoy trying to. Knowing that Heavenly Father has given me all these opportunities makes me sure that He has also given me the talents and abilities by which to fulfill my every day responsibilities and activities. While my life is super busy, I love it and am thankful for all my adventures in family-life, business and my community.
How I live my faith
A few years after being baptized I was able to serve a Spanish speaking mission in Honduras. To this day I miss Honduras and its people but I also enjoy serving locally as a Sunday School teacher. I LOVE teaching the gospel!
The biggest ways in which my husband and I live our faith is by being active parents and good neighbours. We have many dear friends who live in our neighbourhood with whom we enjoy a very active social life. We are the only Mormons among our group of friends. We have lots of fun together and hopefully my family gives a good example of what a faith-filled home can be.
