Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon 'cus deep down, I've always known there is something beyond me, beyond this life and beyond my abilities. It brings me comfort that I am able to dwell with Heavenly Father once again. It also brings me comfort that I know my prayers are answered. I know we have a just Heavenly Father and that when we are doing the best we can and sticking it out through the hard times, our efforts will be recognised.

How I live my faith

I express my faith and religion by the things I DO and how I ACT. I help & serve others whenever possible and try to show my love for everyone whatever way I can.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

A temple is a house of the Lord, a place where we may worship our Heavenly Father and feel of His presence. It is a sacred place where no unclean thing can enter. Because of the importance and sacredness of the temple, a temple recommend is required and is received based on individual worthiness within the church in order to enter its holy walls.

The temple is where I go to find answers, to find peace, and to feel the Spirit. We are encouraged to go as often as possible and to attend seeking Spiritual guidance. Inside we perform sacred ordinances for ourselves and more often for others, those who are deceased. God requires that all to make covenants in order to return to His presence and many died without the opportunity to make these covenants. In the temple we perform the ordinances for them in their name giving them the opportunity to reject or accept the ordinance and thus enter into the presence of the Father. The temple is a very sacred and holy place.

They are peaceful, pure places, where only those who have committed to live the most discipled lives can go to ponder and pray. They are places where we learn about God's plan for all of humanity, and where we promise to do all in our power to help all of His children, and receive promises that we can be with Him as well. We wear white clothing that is simple, and remove our watches and bling, to demonstrate a willingness to let go of our day-to-day concerns to focus on the real things: people, and their worth to God.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Mormons believe that we are commanded to love all people as sons and daughters of God, regardless of age, sex, race, or sexual orientation. However, we believe that homosexual behavior is a serious sin and in direct violation with the commandments of God. We believe that marriage, between a man and a woman, is ordained of God.
