I have played soccer for most of my life and I love it. I have also played the violin for about 7 years and continue to do so after my mission. I was a student at Utah Valley University with a majoring in Digital Media hoping to go into making movies as a carreer. I was born in D.C. and raised in Maryland, which I love too. I hope to live the rest of my life along the east coast, but who knows what will happen with that. I love history, politics, movies and going on road trips. I hope to be a world traveler one day.
Not many are givien the chance of being born into a family that already lives this faith, but I did. It was what I knew and what I was brought up to be, but when I was older I decided for myself that I wanted to know if this was what I wantde to do for the rest of my life. I was prepared to make some hefty life decisions and I knew that if I was going to persue these goals I wanted to find out how important this faith was to me. After about 4 years of praying I finally received my answer. It is a rare experiance to have a single event where your answer to your prayers was so strong and undeniable that it is too personal for me to write here. But after going about my life for the next two years not only did I know that this church was true and that Jesus' church was once again on the earth today, but I also came to know that the Lord had a plan for me, which included living as a missionary for the next 18 months to the Spanish-speaking people in the Arizona Tucson Mission. I am so happy to be here and I can already see how it has blessed me and my family.
I am so grateful for what he has done for me. I know that the reason why I am happy and successful is because of Jesus Christ and the power I have chosen to let into my life. I know that my faith in Jesus Christ has helped me see that the hard times that I have gone through is Jesus showing me that I can do more than what I thought I could do. He has shown me a small part of my potential and he has still more to show me. His plan for me is COMPLETELY and TOTALLY different than what I originally planned for myself, but I know I've been put in places that I needed to be for a reason and I've loved it ever since.
Mormons go on missions simply because 1) spread the word about Jesus Christ's restored gospel and 2) it has been commanded of all young and able men and women if they chose to do so. It is a small part of what we can give back to God and all that he has given us by sharing God's love and being an answer to prayers to all of God's children
I try to be good friend, a good daughter and a good student. Families aren't easy but they are worth it and there is a reason for why each person is in our family. There is a reason why they are there. And when it comes to school, school has always been a struggle for me. However, I know that getting an education is something that I need to persue in this life. I know that having an education will bless myself and my family and it is one of those trials in life that I need the Lord's help to make it through.
