Harrison Kahle: arkansas, choir, canoeing, colorado, wal-mart, camping, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Harrison Kahle

I am six-foot-two. I loved having a beard. I love doing the work of the Lord more. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Being a missionary takes up most of my time right now, honestly. I'm serving in the California Anaheim Mission, and enjoying it immensely. I was born in TX, moved to CO, and then spent the last 15 years in NW Arkansas.

God gives everyone gifts. I love to sing. And I also love to play guitar. Music has been a way for me to grow closer to my Heavenly Father. After having 7 years of choir, being in a folk-comedy/"coversongs" duo with a good friend of mine, singing barbershop music for 3 years, and spending time with friends and family enjoying music, I've been able to develop my gifts and talents and have fun with them! My dream is to become a Highschool Choir Director! In high school I had some of the greatest men and women as choir directors. They were excellent examples of Christ-like leaders, and helped me realize what things are important in life. The things I learned from their example made me stronger, and helped me believe what I believe today. Being able to help people by using my gifts, and following and learning from the examples God has given me makes life worthwhile.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this Church. And the biggest reason for that is: I have desired to know if it is true. By making a habit of prayer, scripture study, and church attendance, God has granted me an answer wrought by the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost gave me the confirmation I needed, but first had to truly desire. This Church has the priesthood of God, it is the Church of the Lamb, it is led by a prophet who converses with God, and I am so greatful for that.

I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, though I was not always active. I let things people say bother me, I got lazy, and then my desire to go to church weakened. But something inside me always assured me that I would go back--that this was the only place that I would find happiness. I visited other Churches, but essentially stayed out of any religious circle while in high school. After graduation, I suddenly had more time with my family, and more time to reflect, to ponder, and to begin wondering about Church again. I became active, and the missionaries taught my two youngest sisters, and then I was able to baptize them in February of 2010.

The experiences that have shown me the power of the priesthood and the witness of the Holy Ghost is why I am a Mormon. This is the true path, and the way for all of us to return to Heavenly Father.

Personal Stories

Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.

Becuase of prayer, study, and pondering, I have come to have a spiritual knowledge that Joseph Smith saw our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, in a vision. I have come to know that they truly explained to him that the Church of Jesus Christ was not on the Earth. Now it is back, and that is through the priesthood which was given to us in these days by those who held the authority, returning to the Earth to confer it upon the early leaders of this Church. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know the Doctrine and Covenants are true revelations pertaining to these days, and that the current leaders of the Church still recieve revelation to help us, warn us, and comfort us. I know this is the Kingdom of God, and... it is just exciting to know that! To know that I am a member of His Kingdom on the earth! The true Church.

Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?

We believe that the blessings of the gospel are to be extended to our ancestors. We believe that after this life those who did not get to hear the gospel have the chance to listen to it and accept it in the life to come. But they need to be baptized, so we do baptisms for and in behalf of the people who passed away without having the opportunity to hear or accept the gospel in this life. This has blessed my family as we have searched back all the way to when our name first appeared. I know who my family is all through traceable history, and I know that I will meet them one day. Doing the work for them in the temple gives them the opportunity to accept what has blessed my life so much.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in Southern California, and live my faith by getting out and talking to people, making all aware that the Kingdom of God is on the earth, and that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love them, and why that is important!
