I was born and raised on an Iowa farm........I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Our Father in Heaven has blessed me in so many incredible ways....I am a husband to my gorgeous Mormon wife. I am a father, a step-father and a grandfather to an energetic 6 year old grandson.
My family means everything to me, that is what our lives are all about-family and I am so proud of them.

Why I am a Mormon

Fortuanately for me, I was reunited with the love of my life, and married a beautiful Mormon girl. The way she lived her life, the principles that guided her , and her unending faith in the Lord were some of the reasons I was baptized, I too wanted the Gospel in my life.

I was able to seek and find the answers to Who are we? Where did we come from? Why are we here on earth? Where are we going after our mortal journey has ended?

I was taught by the missionaries, I studied diligently, read the Scriptures, prayed and have personally embraced the Gospel in my life.I know that by following the commandments, striving to live righteously and allowing the miracle of our Savior's atonement to work in my life, I will be able to endure to the end and achieve exaltation.
I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me direction, peace, joy and happiness in my life. I know that no matter what trials and tribulations I face in life, I can overcome any obstacle with the help of my Heavenly Father, he is always there to rescue me.
I have learned that Father in Heaven knows me and loves me personally and wants only the best for me. Through personal prayer I can communicate and recieve revelation and guidance from my Heavenly Father, how reassuring is that?

How I live my faith

I have been blessed with many church callings and continue to learn that being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a beautiful way of life. I am a counselor in the Bishopric and have the opportunity to serve others, that is what we are all about. I have had the opportunity to be associated with the most incredible individuals that share the same Gospel principles I do. We build strong families and relationships and strive to enrich the lives of others. We form a network that ties and binds us together to carry on the work of the Lord and to invite those who are ready to come unto the Gospel and build up the Kingdom of God here on earth.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

We have a document called The Family..A proclamation to the World which outlines and proclaims among many other things that a husband and wife have a solemn responsibility to love and care for one another and for their children. Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousnes, to provide for their physical and spirtitual needs, to teach them to love and serve one another, to observe the commandments of God and to be law abiding citizens where ever they live.Husbands and wives-mothers and fathers--will be held accountable before God for the dischage of these obligations.
The family is ordained by God, and we know the strength of any nation is rooted within the halls of its homes and we know families are eternal.

The role of husband and wife in the family is to first and foremost love each other! Wow, revolutionary!!!
I have found that when there is love and complete commitment between my husband and I, there is no problem that we cannot face together. It is much easier to teach the children with love and to handle life's challenges.
My husband and I are equals. I feel loved, respected, and appreciated by him. I hope he feels the same things from me.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

When married by earthly power and the authority of man, our vows are "Until death do you part."

We believe that families can be together forever as part of our Heavenly Father's Great Plan of Happiness. His Work and His Glory is to bring to pass the exaltation and eternal life of man. He wants us to be even as He is and to return home to live with Him again.

Through the ordinances of his Holy Temples, God's son's and daughter's are able to make covenants. Through the power of His Holy Priesthood, be sealed together for all of time and eternity as Husband and Wife, parents and children.

Families were designed and instituted by God with the intent that they be forever. The love we feel in this life does not need to be cut off when we die. Those who have already died are not lost us forever. God has mercifully made a way by which all who would accept these saving ordinances can do so, living or dead.

We perform these ordinances for those who have in the past died so that they may have the opportunity of accepting them on the other side if they so choose to do so.
