Chrissy: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Chrissy

I love learning and reading. I'd rather wash the dishes by hand, and prefer the country to any city. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Psychology student at BYU in Provo, Utah. I love studying the brain and behaviors. I'm the fastest test-taker I know, and have an intricate bubble sheet marking method.
I love reading and watching movies, but I'm not one for suspense- I'll read the wikipedia page before seeing a movie more often than not.
I grew up in Washington, instilling a love for all things green, but was not exposed to much variety in sky views until I moved to Utah, where I subsequently fell in love with the bright blue ones I get to see on a regular basis. My family loves to go on rafting trips, so I would choose a river over a beach any day. I recently fell in love with country music.
My dream is to be a mom. Plan B is to get a PhD in Clinical Neuropsychology or create a movement to ban homework from the Elementary School system.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that it is Christ's restored gospel on Earth. The gospel brings me peace and happiness through my knowledge that I am a daughter of God. I know He loves me. When I think about my divine nature as a child of God, I cannot help to feel comfort; I know that because He is my father, He wants me to succeed and live with Him again.
I'm a Mormon because of the principles I learn in the church. I know that when I obey the things that Heavenly Father has asked us to do, I am blessed. And I know that when I make mistakes, I am given a way to return to the path of righteousness through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because I know that the way to return to live with my Father is through baptism, and I want to return to Him and thank Him for providing the plan of happiness. I'm a Mormon because the gospel never ceases to amaze me, and because when I read the scriptures, I receive the answers I need.
I'm a Mormon because I know it's true.

Personal Stories

Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.

Joseph Smith was one of the greatest prophets to ever live on this Earth. He was one of the most selfless and forgiving men in history. I admire him for questioning the commotion on the Earth and applying the scriptures he had studied so diligently. I thank him for having the incredible faith that if he asked God which religion was the correct one, that he would get an answer. I know Joesph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ that early Spring morning. I know Joseph translated the Book of Mormon through revelation, and brought forth the gospel principles imperative to our salvation.
Joseph Smith was not a perfect man. Yes, he made mistakes. However, I have learned much from his willingness to use the atonement and repent and change. Though he was wronged so many times by other men, he was forgiving and merciful. He gave his life so that people would know the truth. I thank Heavenly Father every day that Joseph Smith went into the woods that morning, for through that decision my family has been blessed for many generations. I have learned the truth of the gospel for myself; I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I do not worship the prophet Joseph, but I thank him for being the instrument through which God brought forth his gospel in this dispensation.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to incorporate my education with my faith in Jesus Christ. I believe that by understanding people better, I can help them reach a higher plane: emotionally and spiritually. I believe that Heavenly Father has placed us in situations to help other people, and to be helped by other people, and I believe I can use my education and background in Psychology to be a help to those around me.
