Steven: Oldest child, Singer, Runner, Basketball, Helping Others, Reading, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Steven

I love sports and music, enjoy helping others, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 5 in my family and I love it! I enjoy basketball it's a way I can relieve stress and stay athletic. I also am a runner, I participated in Track and Cross Country in high school it was a blast! Let's see I also enjoy singing, playing the piano, riding bikes, going white-river rafting, camping with my family, and going on intense 50 mile hikes!! I'm an Eagle Scout and I try hard to lead by example.
I have been shy since a very young age, but I am working on it and striving to overcome this weakness. I know that our Savior Jesus Christ can help me overcome my weaknesses and anyone else who needs the strength to overcome it.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that this church and the Book of Mormon is true without a shadow of a doubt. Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, I KNOW this with every fiber of my being. Every person in the world could say he wasn't, but a testimony by the power of the Holy Ghost (answers come through feelings and people can't deny feeling in love or at peace with a decision) is more powerful then anything. I wouldn't be a missionary if I didn't know these things were true.

Personal Stories

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost has helped me with many things:
Comforted me when I needed comfort especially in difficult times and trials.
Helped me gain a strong testimony through reading the Book of Mormon and Praying.
Helped me learn Spanish, and know what to say to help others come closer to Christ.
Helped me have a strong desire to serve a mission, something I've always wanted to do.
Schoolwork, bringing things that I have learned to my rememberence.
Being more christ-like, helps me figure out what I need to do to be better.
Making decisions wheter to go to college before my mission or not.
The Holy Ghost has helped me become the person I am today, and is a great friend to me!

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

Love I know is the secret to having harmony in our homes, because if we have love for each other then contention leaves and their is peace.
As the oldest of my family I try my best to lead by example, to be nice to everyone around me to treat them as Sons and Daughters of God that they are. I also try and look for the best in others and not look at the negative attributes.
It all comes down to love and truly caring about one another. Being like the Savior and trying everyday to work towards the attributes of Christ.

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

Making right choices helps me keep focused on the good and not the bad. So I can continue to make those right choices and feel like I'm succeeding. I have a desire to do good and make right choices, so it's easier for me to make those right choices. As long as I can continue to have a desire to do good and it's shown through my actions then I can continue making right choices. There are times when I don't choose the right, I try to trust in my Savior, and go through the repentance process and get back on track.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

For me why I'm on a mission, is because the Lord has done so much for me in my life. I've changed so much since I was 14 years old, and it's all thanks to my Heavenly Father. So I want to do the best I can everyday to serve with all my heart, might, mind and strength.
Why missionaries are on missions is to help others come unto Christ, to sacrifice 2 years to 1 1/2 in the service of other people and Heavenly Father. Also missionaries go on missions to become better people, I've seen aunts, uncles, and grandparents come back from missions better then they were before.
A mission for me has changed me in so many ways, I care even more about people, I'm stronger in all areas of my life now, I've become a lot more talkative, and I've just become a better person.
I love being on a mission and I want to serve another one later on when I'm retired. I'm serving now because I love my Heavenly Father and others around me. I want the best for my brothers and sisters and it pains me to see so many who are suffering. I want to help everyone!

How I live my faith

I am serving our Savior and God our loving Heavenly Father for two years in the Spanish lanuage. Teaching the people here in New England about things Heavenly Father wants them to know. Everyday I'm looking to serve other people and invite them to come closer to Christ. Being a missionary is a sacrifice and a challenge but I wouldn't trade it for anything. A day doesn't go by for when I'm not grateful to be here in New England, especially when I see other people want to change.
When I was at home I always strived to be a good example to my friends, family, coaches, teachers, and my fellow classmates. When I was running I encouraged those who were struggling during races or practices. I looked for oppurtunites to serve especially while at school and encourage people to keep going. I love helping others because I forget about myself and my problems and get to lift burdens that others are carrying.
