I was born and raised in Ogden Utah. I am involved in the Boy Scouts of America at all levels. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an amateur Archaeologist and Geologist. I collect coins, stamps and rocks. i love the Boy Scout movement and work in it in all levels. i have a thirty year old daughter who was sealed in the Draper, Utah L D S temple in June of 2011. my wife and I have been married and sealed for 31 years. Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the L D S church. I have always loved the Lord and the Scriptures. I began reading the Book of Mormon when i was eight years old and gained a powerful testimony of it at that time. for the last thirty five years, i have read and studied all four standard works of the L D S church (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price). I ma very active in the church and always have been through my 54 years of life and will continue to be. I know our Heavenly Father lives and loves us regardless of how we have lived our lives. I know that Jesus Christ lives and is our savior and redeemer and has atoned for our sins. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and the gospel was restored by Christ through him. I also know that every man who has served as President of the Church since him was a prophet of God and that Thomas S. Monson is today. I served a mission for the Lord in the Texas, Houston Mission of the L D S church and I adored the two years I spent there sharing the gospel with all who were interested.

Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.

I know beyond any doubt that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and the Lord restored his church to the earth in the early 1800's through Joseph Smith.

In what ways have your prayers been answered?

through Prayer and the ministration of the Holy Ghost, I met my dear sweet wife on a blind date. I saw her in a dream after praying about it then I met her at a sorority dinner dance after agreeing to go after the spirit told me to go when I was asked by a friend to take a girl who's date had backed out on her. I am glad he backed out!

How I live my faith

I am very active in the church. I Home Teach four wonderful families in our area with my companion. I work with the Cub and Boy Scouts in my local ward and train leaders all over my local Boy Scout district. the Cub Scout leaders are my favorite as are the boys. I am employment specialist and Emergency Preparedness Specialist in my area as well. I love singing in my ward choir of which my wife is the director. I am also the instructor for the older group of men in my ward and I love doing that. My favorite activity of all outside of my family, i service. I love helping others with whatever they need.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Husband and wife in a marriage are meant to be equal, partners. The husband is the head of the household and is responsible for the temporal welfare of his family. His role is to support his wife. The wife is also to support her husband and to nurture her family both spiritually and emotionally. Husband and wife are meant to work side by side in providing a safe haven from the world for their family. Their roles are different, but equally important and essential to building the family and the community.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Latter Day Saints(Mormons) donate 10% of their income to the church because the Lord has commanded us too! In Proverbs 3:9 it says, "Honour the Lord with substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase." This is talking about tithing, tithing literally means one-tenth, which is 10%. So when the Lord commands us to donate one-tenth of our increase(income) that is what we do. If you look at Malachi 3:8-10 you will see that the Lord is asking for us to give him our tithes (10%) and in return he will open the windows of Heaven and pour out blessings, so many that we won't be able to contain them. Wouldn't you want to receive innumerable blessings for just giving Him 10% of your pay check? It seems like a pretty fair trade to me.
